This all looks good on paper, but there are way more variables that aren't being mentioned. Like he uses the weakeness of the east as part of the FOR argument but fails to use anything to do with the west because it would weaken his own argument. This is just one example. The Forbes I am writing pretty much off. I can find a number of articles that supports awful and untrue claims as well.( not saying this is out there but this wasn't a top 10 season of all time)

SB Nation is just an opinion piece and uses nothing but his own conclusions.

Pretty much what I found relevant from the SB Nation article was this

Golden State won 67 regular-season games and had one of the eight-best point differentials of all time. They lost just seven times with their full roster healthy in the regular season, an amazing accomplishment in an era where talent is spread so evenly through the league. They had the league's MVP in Stephen Curry and reasonably could also have won Defensive Player of the Year (Draymond Green), Coach of the Year (Steve Kerr), Most Improved (Klay Thompson) and Sixth Man of the Year (Andre Iguodala).

They then blew through the playoffs, going 16-5 with a net point differential matched only by three other champions since 1997. They never faced elimination, something LeBron's Heat, the Big 3 Celtics, last year's amazing Spurs and four of Kobe Bryant's five champion Lakers clubs can't say. When the Warriors twice faced 2-1 deficits, they made bold adjustments that led to three straight comfortable victories.

Again its full of smart use of stats in context like this

If this, if that. Cavs had no roster come finals. You can't use this as a metric of measuring how great a team is.

You wonder why he chose 1997? I would like to bet because if he used since 1980, it would've been a number that didn't sound too promising.

If your best team lost a total of 7 games for the year that is damn impressive. It shows they beat the majority of the competition this year which is relevant.

A 20 year span is pretty big time frame. It's still not the stat I was talking about, but again relevant for the sample space

It just shows again how dominant they were. The fact that they didn't face elimination once is again pretty damn impressive.

The other things were more simplistic views (right around too offense and too defense, +10 point differential, total season wins, total road wins, 3rd most wins in a season counting playoffs, etc)

On the table in the SB Nation article one of the Bucks or Lakers had to lose because they played each other.

Lol. Elo system for teams is terrible. This has been proved over and over. It is fantastic for individual sports and games, but terrible for anything related to a team sport/event.

Can go into detail if need be. ( dont mean to d!ck measure or flop it around but statistics are my thing)
