If it was the best player wins the award LeBron would have 9 ;)

If it's the true most valuable player you would need to give it to Westbrook or Davis.

"if you do more with less, you deserve the mvp" - Isiah Thomas
In that case, Harden is the MVP hands down.
The Brow?
Team doesn't win enough tho. Can you have an MVP from a team that (probably) doesn't make playoffs?

Harden's my pick.
its who is most valuable to their team, where would the pelicans be without him?
They have beaten the Thunder, Heat, Raptors and Nets without him recently. Although also lost to some easier teams. Don't get me wrong, I freaking love Davis (and have a cheeky few dollars on him for MVP from the start of the season) IMO MVP is a lot about team wins too.

You can have the best stats in the world but if your team's losing... basketball's a sport that can be completely changed by one player. Think Lebron in Cleveland, he was MVP because not only did he have terrific numbers but he guided a bunch of spuds to the playoffs year after year. It's not just the ability to put up good stats like Davis, but to carry your team to wins

Not saying that the MVP has to go to a top 5 team, but definitely a play-off team.

Keeper27

I can see both games going overs.
50+ first quarter. Nice

Jay

Davis has been awesome, probably the best player in the league, but the MVP doesn't go to a guy who's team isn't in the best 8 of their conference. Just doesn't happen.

LeBron making a case for MVP today - he's been awesome so far.

wtf?? overs looked so good in this game... last qtr and they slow it down.
>:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

If the Most Valuable Player was awarded to the most valuable player then Kobe should have won it about 15 times in a row.

It's pretty much who has been the best player. And by best player you have to go by stats.

If Westbrook can get Oklahoma into 5th or 6th position then i think that run of being the best player of the best team can finish.

Holz

Clevelands record with James is pretty convincing.

In the second half of the season he and westbrook are the clear MVP candicates, he may have done a little too much damage early on for his chances.

Jay

And right on cue, Westbrook is getting dominated by Mini-LeBron ;)

It's funny, last year, no matter how bad Durant was playing in a game, in the last, if it was close, he would always come out and gie us the win.

I can feel something coming in this last qtr from Russ.

Jay

What was PHX doing that last possession ???

OT should be awesome 8)

Westripledoublebrook with that huge three-point play to tie it.

Jay

Glad that PHX finally didn't get screwed on a buzzer beater :P

Quick question, which player is/was better.  Iverson or Westbrook?  Some keyboard warrior is trying to argue that Westbrook is hands down better than Iverson and that Iverson is the most overrated player of all time?!?  Told him to tell me his age, because he wouldn't be saying that if he grew up watching Iverson in his prime, no answer, flowering early 20's hipster.

Both are amazing players.  I dont really like either player to be honest but both are great players (I prob lean in the favour of AI).
