North Melbourne player Majak Daw arrested over alleged sex assault.

Detectives from the sexual crimes squad interviewed Daw on May 25 over an allegations of an alleged sexual assault in 2007.

Victoria Police confirmed a 23-year-old man Wyndham Vale man had been arrested over the assault claim.

He was released pending further inquiries, police said.

Yeah you would think.

Probably one of those things where the girl was drunk at a party, then regretted it the next day...

While stuff like this can be true and only come out well after it happened, off face value it would seem to be more a "he said she said" kind of debate

Yeah true. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how it pans out...

Apparently he was questioned over this matter in late may and then released...

So... doesn't sound like much substance atm...

There is so much innuendo and claims going on about this matter think we need to wait and get full facts.  For example I read a report in one of the news reports matter was reported to police whent it ocurred in 2007 but no further action was taken as victim did not want to pursue the matter.

So many things do not add up and we can speculate all we like but I think we should just let the matter take its course and await official outcome.

Well North released a no comment, saying they wouldn't be charging or punishing Daw for what its worth

North Melbourne footballer Majak Daw charged with rape

North Melbourne footballer Majak Daw has been charged with three counts of rape relating to an alleged sexual assault in Altona North in 2007.

Victoria Police detectives filed a charges summons at court on Monday and Daw is expected to be served with a summons today.

It is believed the charges relate to allegations of penile, oral and  digital rape.

"The club respects the integrity of the legal process and asks the right to privacy of all involved be respected."

"North Melbourne will support Majak and he will remain available for selection at VFL and AFL level."

"This is the subject of an ongoing legal proceeding and it is not appropriate for Majak or North Melbourne to make any comment."
