They need to just shut up and take it. 2 matches for a guilty verdict is a godsend.

At least it can finally be over.
You're not wrong there mate. Still trying to get my head around how that kind of punishment (if guilty) is being floated around

Backdated, NRL.... and a whole lot of money being lost by a corrupt AFL.

But whatever. Im happy for the players... especially the poor kids caught up in this.

Yeh agree.

Just sad when others that have been caught on lesser breaches have been whacked with a 2yr ban, with no movement on it

Because of the nature of it I would say. A whole senior list vs one person. Too much coin down the toilet. Bringing Sheedy back to generate dollars is a pretty clear indication Essendon are already in financial stress. Imagine if players start suing for duty of care.

The NRL have proven how painless this whole thing could have been if they took a plea deal.

And then theres this recent Karmichael Hunt fiasco. "Im guilty" and then the story is out of the headlines in 7 days..... Whether or not he was supplying Cocaine to a bevy of elite sports stars...

Yeh 2 weeks does feel odd must admit and Saad deserves to feel hard done by but the Essendon saga is a much different beast. In a nut shell im happy to have it over and done with as i never felt at any stage the players went willingly into injecting band substances. WADA is watching closely still they will want to be satisfied or they most certainly will appeal the penalty one would think. Either way it needs to be over with and im sure the punishment will be debated for a milenium.

Essendon players are concerned their fate is already decided as tribunal decision nears

Nah, let's drag it out over a few more years ffs.

Think most of that is smoke and mirrors, if we get hit to hard we could sue and ruin the club. More intended for the AFL that statement maybe. Punishment will be whatever it is of course ASADA at this stage would have an idea of what it may be atleast i bloody hope so.

shaker

The AFL will orchestrate this so there will be as little disruption to the season as possible or what some might call a whitewash  ::)

Grazz

Agree shaker that is the the AFL's mandate .

Could Jobe and Dyson still win the Brownlow with a 2 week suspension?

If they had put there hands up and pleaded guilty like the NRL players I would have no problem with it but they haven't , if they are found guilty they should cop the full 2 years but we know that is not going to happen

I think so, I can't see it being any different to whacking a bloke in the grand final, missing the early games of the next season then winning the medal since the incident occured in a different season. However, Jobe's Brownlow comes into question. Just like Olympic athletes get stripped of gold medals. If they find him guilty of taking a banned performance enhancing drug they have to strip him of it. But they won't because this whole entire thing is a joke. How can the bans be backdated? Saad wasn't allowed to speak to a coach even in a cafe, let alone go to training every week. Saad had an energy drink that is only banned on game day and cops 18 months, these guys "allegedly" had performance enhancing drugs injected into them and miss 2 matches and I bet they'll still be allowed to train.

^ that's the next point I was going to make. Surely, either Jobe loses his 2012 or is ineligible for 2014
