shower really hitting the fan now about how dodgy the investigation has been the AFL botched the report to make it look worse for EFC etc the above link i posted is a good read and lots of other stuff floating around now

Mailman the 2nd

The court case they're doing now won't help the Bombers at all. They'll suffer huge damage regardless on whether the ASADA case is thrown out on legal technicalities or not, considering the entire nation will still think that Essendon are drug cheats

Just can't believe Hird still thinks what he was in charge of legal or not was ok , saw in the paper today in a 50/50 write someone said if they subjected there offspring to that he would be suing under work safety act gotta agree with them .

I guess it's interesting...
If this substance had been the 'next big thing in footy'- legal/beneficial/used by all, Hird + co would have been viewed in different light- being 'innovative'.
Now, the substance in question (still not illegal as far as anyone is aware) isn't even the focus at all.

I think that if this substance had been given the all-clear by those employed by the club as 'subject matter experts' (Dank/Robinson) then there is definitely joint responsibility.

Yes indeed there was poor governance in this program. Yes indeed Hird needed to take responsibility as head coach in what went down (has spent 12 months on the sidelines). But ultimately the players are responsible for WHATEVER goes in to their bodies- just like you or I.

This father's comments are a cop out.
They are all consenting adults.

I wouldn't know but could they make the argument that they were pressured in to it? And that they thought they wouldn't be able to compete/make the team without it?

I think that there would be an argument for peer pressure/fear of omission.
I guess all areas of society deal with peer pressure, none so much as a tight-knit footy club.
David Zaharakis didn't take the sups. I guess none of this really matters now.

I guess you've touched on the point from earlier, the players thoughts are probably along the lines of- if other players at the club are taking it, should i be taking it? it's been cleared by the so-called-experts it should be ok, the other clubs will probably be doing it soon... etc
It's still their choice- Hird didn't hold them down and jab them. Just saying.

Hold them down?...He let it happen , arranged and approved it? , joined in? ....thats it really..he was in the big chair....Just saying ;)

Ricochet

Just remember supplements programs and injection programs occur in many clubs. The process/program isn't an issue. It's what was used thats the issue. Although they believe they were cleared to use it
