Hearing is at 2pm today
But no media is allowed access so won't know until after the hearing
We won't know the punishment, only if they are guilty or not.
Then ASADA can appeal if they don't agree

This certainly isn't over today :(

I read this

QuoteWill suspensions be known on Tuesday if guilty verdicts are handed down?
Unlikely. It's expected that only guilt or otherwise will be known by the end of the day on Tuesday.

I hate Essendon but here is hoping for a not guilty verdict

Okay, so I think I've finally got my head around this stuff.

Long story short we'll know today whether they're guilty or not but apart from that this is far from over because regardless of the verdict, some party will appeal and this will continue to drag on... right?  :P

Samsturmfels

so if they are quilty, does this mean the 'top up' players will be playing for them on the weekend??

yes

And if not guilty they can play, but with some risk as if ASADA appeals successfully then bans cannot be backdated.

I kinda feel like at this point if the verdict is guilty I expect the dons will just cop it and wait until punishments to see if they want to appeal those, they've done so much fighting against the verdict it's hard to see them appealing it straight away now. If the verdict is not guilty it becomes harder to say as we don't know the strength of ASADAs case really, just media drivel. I would expect them to appeal unless their evidence is super shaky, but I don't believe they would have dragged it to this point if they didn't think the case was good.

Punishments if guilty, if it's anything less than 18months then Saad should sue somebody. Seriously. The guy committed an offence of negligence and got done for 18months, if the bombers are guilty then it's a deliberate and orchestrated offense, should receive the same penalty at the very least, if not more. I wouldn't expect the same treatment as the sharks as WADA weren't that happy with that situation anyway, so I don't think you can use that as a benchmark for this kind of case...

Here's to 3 year of drama!
