Apparently the club are saying it hasn't happened as yet, can't see Hird lasting the day but stranger things have happened.

Responding to reports that Hird had been sacked, Essendon spokesman Justin Rodski said at noon: "No. That is wrong."
Hird is currently in a meeting with club bosses at their headquarters in Tullamarine over his future.
