I understand what you're saying GL.

But how much does that loss of 50 points mean in the prelim of a final if he's rested then as I expect at the moment? No second chances if you lose? I don't expect him to beat Jack by 5ppg at this rate, either Fyfe is playing at 75-80% at best.

Let me reiterate, he was on crutches all last week, and didn't train once. He is lacking fitness.

Mat0369

I hope you all remember there is a split round to come. A lot of these guys will be getting their week off then.

Didn't think of that Mat - I don't want to be getting sub 110 scores with a 85% fit Fyfe at the moment though, that split round is in Round 18 which is 5-6 weeks away. Decisions, decisions.

He was on crutches for a rolled ankle and it was precautionary more then anything, fitness wise he is fine, he managed to get through the game unscathed I wouldn't worry about it to much. What I would worry about is that he hasn't coped great with the tag as well the last three weeks, but he has 2, arguably 3 tough match ups for the rest of the season where the team has an elite tagger. I did a strength of schedule for the guys I considered premiums and what their run was like for the rest of the season. Freo and Swans have an equal run home, Fyfe and Jack are 1st/2nd in line to be tagged each week, but the only top guys they have remaining are as follows

Fyfe: Curren (played VFL last week), Carlton (multiple taggers that can do a job and have been successful) and Guthrie (did a good job on him 2 weeks ago)
Jack: Scully (only since he would be the ideal matchup to play on Jack but I don't really count him), Carlton and Curren

They both face Port as well, but I don't think Cornes/Cassisi would look to lock these guys down.

I went Fyfe first because his only score under 100 all season was last week. The only thing you might have to worry about with Fyfe is he gets the red vest against the Lions if they smash them like he did round 1 against the Pies. I think any of Fyfe, Jack or Hanners is a good pick although Hanners tends to throw up the odd stinker which is why I stayed away.

If he got rested in round 22 I would likely trade him, as we should all have a few trades left for "The General" in finals ;)

There's something about Fyfe that makes me a little uneasy

2 years ago I jumped on Jack in the 2nd half the season and he was great for me, and real POD

I will be looking into my options soon, but pretty sure I am going with Jack

RaisyDaisy

I've just done my own little research on these two, because they are the two best options I can afford for Jobe so I have to get one of them, and I am going with Jack

Rarely misses games and I cant see him getting tagged often with guys like Hanners and JPK that would/should attract the tag too.

Both are solid options, but I just see Jack as being more reliable. Plus, he is a POD

AaronKirk

Freo's soft draw and Fyfe ceiling vs Jack's unbelievable consistency of output. Tough one. Had Jack in the 2nd half of last season and was an excellent POD.

Jack has gone 110+ in his last 7 games, do you want to pay $587k for him though? I'm not so sure.

Fyfe has 2 relatively poor games and every one wants to jump off? Crazy. He is a gun and with Fremantle's draw coming up I would predict an average above 120 for the rest of the season for Fyfe. He is also $30k cheaper than Jack.

Fyfe for me.

RaisyDaisy

Fyfe does have a great draw coming up, and the 30k might be handy, but Freo's SC finals draw of Geelong, Hawthorn, Brisbane and Port needs to be considered

Sydney's SC finals draw is Port, Saints, Bulldogs and Richmond. Sydney has Port this week, but then their draw after that all the way up to SC finals is pretty good for them too. Rich, GWS, WCE, Carlton, Haw and Essendon

sammy123

Anyone considered stevie J

grange76

you would have to think there is every likelihood Fyfe will get a rest this week against Richmond

Jack would be my suggestion

While the Hawks area great team, they are not a negative in terms of SC points, their midfield don't restrict the oppositions top player as they don't really get Lewis to tag as much anymore. Both have an equal draw for the rest of the season, both are ultra consistent and both would be first or 2nd in line to get the tag.

Thanks so much for the input fellas.

Am going to pick up Jack, I like PODS and I think he can average 115 from here on end.

Any other comments?

blues123

ward wouldn't be a bad POD either
