Time for Ibbotson?

Don't call me crazy... but, is it time to sideways trade a Rookie like Langdon to Ibbotson?

Or upgrade Griffiths to Ibbotson, and put Langdon as D7?

8 (injured)
38 (first game back from injury)
89 (versus low-DT Adelaide)

BE today was 69, so his 89 should see him rise in cash to, what $397k? Selected in 0.8% of teams.

Comes up against Brisbane Lions next.

Like I said, can take the place of Langdon who will hopefully end the round on $385k.... or Griffiths for not an awfullllll lot (hopefully $265k price = $135k or so needed). This could be done by downgrading XEllis (which is doable if Langdon is D7).

So, -Griffiths (losing cash & last 3 of 33) -XEllis (58 average) for Ibbotson & $115k rookie. Langdon to D7, about $15k or so.

Or - Langdon, pay $10k from bank, +Ibbotson. -Griffiths +Cheap Rookie. Bank $100k to $130k or so, for a nice upgrade next week.

Don't know where you got 69 from, Fantasy Freako says its 148

AFL Fantasy must have partially updated (which seems retarded, but, alas).

69 must be his BE next week :D

Even better.

Means instead of $397, he should be closer to, what, $363k :)?

Makes it a downgrade from Langdon, and very affordable from Griffiths.

Keep in mind, he started the year at over $500k and averaged 92 last year.... he is $363k.

Good pick-up mate.
I will have a serious think about it.

You're better off upgrading Langdon to a keeper imo. I think this is the time of the year to start getting your team completed and not looking at stepping stones.

Unless you're in that 100-600 overall position where a POD like Ibbo with his stupidly easy draw coming up might make (or break) your season.

Is 92 a "keeper"?

McVeigh is on 93.x

Only 6 players have 92 or better this year.

*IF* Ibbotson can score as he did last year for the rest of this year, he'd currently be an (equal) Top 6 defender.

In theory, Ibbotson can improve on last year, given how soft his draw is. Though, he has had "only" two matches to come back in, so by next week his fitness should be alrite - but perhaps not 100%? Maybe the lack of fitness and the soft draw cancels each other out and we can still expect 90+ from him?

Realistically, he just got 89 against very stingy Adelaide. If he can average 89 from $363k I'll sure as shower keep him. I've got Simpson and Bartel and McVeigh...

Swallow is 94.5 average and $461k... I think I traded him out after his 84, 71, 81, bye. He has averaged 88 over the last 7 matches.

So, Ibbo to Swallow would not be *much* of an upgrade....

Besides, I still have Kade Kolojasdsa who I can turn into Swallow when/if I so desire.

Giving me:
Simpson, Bartel, McVeigh, Swallow, Ibbotson, Suckling.

Going Langdon to Ibbotson would mean I am one away from having a good-enough backline to call complete.... with the one remaining traded needed a $365k rookie to a $465k Swallow....

Toga

I'm very tempted and will certainly be looking at him this week, especially if Langdon doesn't do anything exciting today. Pretty sure his BE was mammoth this week so should see a nice price drop ;)

Looking at $385k for Langdon?
$363k for Ibbo?

An 87 from Langdon is serviceable .... but I'd back Ibbo to beats Langdon's average of 78 from here on.

Again, the real question is... if this is a luxury trade, are others more important? (Kade Kolojdads to Swallow for example)

Toga

Yeah man I'd back Ibbo to beat Langdon for the rest of the season so seems a no-brainer to pocket the cash and run. But it does depend on what other trades need doing, for instance Watson needs to go and Tex & Higgins have been average this week so one of them may need to leave soon.

As for you Kolo question, I would see which of Kolo & Langdon have the higher BE and trade that one to Ibbotson, then maybe look at the other to Swallow in the next couple ;)

Yea, I was going to get Stevie J in... but looking at his last 3, why would I bother?

Barlow is an option this week instead.

I have Ambrose I can trade him out and Parker I can put into the Fwds....

So, really, the choices are:
1. Trade out Ambrose & get a premo mid
2. Get in Ibbotson, save cash for next week, get Rockliff the week after.

Toga

I've looked at possible trades, and have changed my mind. Watson out for a premium mid this week, undecided which one as of yet, and Ambrose is being upgraded. Ibbotson can wait another week to prove his worth :P

AFL Fantasy were showing a BE of 69 for Ibbo - but that is only because they are retarded idiots.

His BE is 102. Means we can wait a week. If he gets 80+ I'll bring him in.

I'll prob. upgrade Ambrose this week.

Kellogscrunchynut

I'll definatly consider it if Michael Johnson is out for weeks.

smoothM24

Thought i would bring this back into consideration. I am thinking of offloading langdon this week. Is ibbotson a solution. I am very temped
