Love the team I've ended up with, contains so many attributes that contribute to winning basketball. For starters, the team is very well balanced with size, athleticism, scoring, rebounding, passing and defense.

Size:
My team possesses size at every position helping with defense and also to make offense easier. Due to wanting Charles Barkley at the 4, I thought surrounding him with size was essential to the team. Oscar Robertson is a 6'5 PG, Ray Allen is 6'5, Scottie is 6'8 and with 7'2 Kareem manning the middle, Barkley's height is no longer an issue. This also enables flexibility on the defensive end which will be discussed later.

Athleticism:
The Big O is underrated athletically and would present matchup problems for current day PGs with his combination of length and athleticism. Scottie was a terrific all-around athlete, his long, bouncy, strong body gives him the ability to play above the rim and cause major problems on defense. Despite Chuck's big frame he is one of the most athletic PFs of all-time. Watching him rebound the ball on the defensive end, forcing it in transition and then slamming it home displays how unstoppable he really was.

Scoring
It is no secret that the greatest strength of my lineup is its offense. With the greatest scorer in Kareem Abdul-Jabaar I did not necessarily need much scoring firepower around him but I decided to draft some additional threats to remove some of the predictably of always going to Kareem. Of course the no.1 option on offense will be Kareem in the post and leave him to go to work with his unstoppable sky hook. My other main offensive threats are Oscar Robertson and Charles Barkley. Oscar is one of the greatest PG scorers in NBA history and his 31.4 points per game in the 63/64 season is the 14th highest scoring season in NBA history among guard/forwards. Charles Barkley is a very efficient scorer in his 92/93 season scoring 26ppg at 52% shooting, and playing with Kareem should release some of his offensive burden and create better looks. Ray Allen and Scottie are off the ball threats that don't need the ball in their hands to be a threat. Ray Allen in particularly is a key to this team to space the floor with his knockdown 3pt shooting. His range stops defenses from sagging into the paint and double teaming Kareem and Chuck.

Rebounding
With 2 of the greatest rebounders of all-time in Kareem and Chuck, I can't see my team losing the all-important rebounding battle many times. Ray and Scottie are both very solid rebounders for their positions and Oscar is probably the greatest rebounding PG of all-time so there is a spread of guys willing to crash the boards.

Passing
As shown in the 2014 NBA Finals, it is important for every member on the court to be able to pass and I have that with this lineup. Kareem and Chuck are both excellent post passers so if the double team comes they will have no difficulty in hitting the open man. Oscar averaging 10 assists is a great floor general to have running the show. Ray and Scottie both keep the ball moving and find the open man.

Defense
Scottie Pippen is arguable the greatest defender of all-time due to his ability to be able to defend all 4 positions very well. With Scottie out on the wing he help contest shots and prevent lane penetration from oppposing guards and forwards. Kareem in this season was All Defensive First Team so he will be an elite rim protector for this team.

It is through these 6 key factors that I believe I have drafted the no.1 team 8)
