Stants seals it for the Bombers.

They've survived a bit of a scare.

How many weeks for Myers?

None he hit him in the arm and his arm slid up towards his head the arm there was flower all force behind it by then

reckless elbow to head, probably 1-2 weeks minimum

it hit the arm first then he lifted his arm so Myers arm slid up

Nige

Valiant efforts vs Hawthorn and now Essendon.

Not all doom and gloom for the Giants.

Sorry KB, still hit him in the head, didn't have to make the contact.

LOL you're kidding aren't you? Will be 1 maximum. And if he gets 1, then so will Mummy for his retaliation.

He didn't lift his arm, it glanced off smith's arm which was already raised... it was after the whistle and and not in play, so you can't classify it as a legitimate attempt for something in play.

It's probably not intentional, but it's definitely reckless. It was high contact, but low impact, which is a level 2 offence. I don't know if it'd be classed as Striking, Rough conduct or misconduct (unreasonable and unecessary contact to face). I doubt it'll be striking, but if it is he'd probably get off with an early plea... if he gets charged with misconduct/ rough conduct, could cop one.

then again, he could get nothing

Mailman the 2nd

I'd argue it was very much intentional contact, there's no real point in arguing whether it bounced off his arm or not  because intent was quite clearly there.

It's intentional contact, but not intentionally head high... I *think* that's a distinction made isn't it?

Correct. The head contact is what they base it on. So it's reckless, low impact at worse. It was pretty minimal head contact, Smith played it up.

Capper

watching it live you knew that he played for the free kick but he did hit him. He might get a week but i think Smith might help him out at the judiciary

by the afl grading system that's still like 225 points for rough conduct, which is at least a week with an early plea (assuming he has no carry over).

I don't even know if I'd call 'playing' for it the right word... he just made it really obvious he'd been illegally cracked across the face.
