Is Ablett worth the dosh?

Yes
No

Marcus

This is the biggest dilemma I'm having.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
I'd prefer not just a 1 liner of spam, YES HE IS GOOD or NO HE IS BAD, type of thing.
Cheers

I have him.
$712,100 is alot of money but he did average 132 last year in 19-20 games.
And he scored 141 in a losing GF side against the second best team in the comp. You could wait for his price to fall but how long will it be before that happens. Definately not in the first 5-6 rounds

i have him

but also thinkin to get rid of him

hes price may not rise much

but he rakes the points in everyweek.

so it is a dilemma

but i would have him.

bluebaggas

he only has to average 130 a game to hold his price
which i could easily see him doing
we all know he can deal with a tag and now he's apparently pushing into the forward line instead of going to the bench so that could mean even more points

if you don't pick him in your initial squad you will spend half a season waiting for his price to drop. it might at some point, but then your going to waste a trade or two trying to upgrade to him.

get him straight away, like cox and just accept that they are worth the cash. trades are way to valuable to be chasing the guns.

the other point is that lots of others won't have him, giving you an almost automatic win at a position.

I know mates who are going to wait for his price to drop then pick him up cheaper. But ... to me its hard to imagine him going below $650k all year. Is it worth holding out on the comps best player (by some distance) for the possibly of saving 60 - 70k? I don't think so. Put him in and forget about the price. He's the one player I'm prepared to do that for.

jimmyha

Yea put him in, lock him as captain, and then you wont have to worry through the season about who to trade for him and when to do it

Bo

Always ablett. Although you've disagreed with me on almost everything marcus, so you probably wont run him.

Marcus

Hehe I'm convinced guys :) Thanks.
@Bo Mate, that's just a coincidence. Nothing really against you but just from your posts I've seen so far. I find them far from helpful. They are often 1 liners that offer too little to back up your contention.

160 SC points....keeping his value as I can see it..

Waste of a trade if you don't get him now

Marcus

bluebaggas

i agree.
anyone know how much TOG he just got

Bo

Don't take ablett just based on this game, take him based on his last season and the preseason. Pies were woeful.

I think from a supercoach point of view. Joel Selwood will be winning some of the hard ball get possessions that Ablett would have got last year. I don't believe he will average the 132 he did last year...

but there is noone really close to him, if he does play some average weeks to drop the people who pick him up round 4-5 will be laughing.
