After consecutive byes in the WAFL, a group of 10 West Coast Eagles players will be pleased to get some match play when East Perth faces SANFL premiers Norwood at Patersons Stadium tomorrow night.

The list of 10 players includes six players with AFL experience the clubs No.1 draft selection from last year, Dom Sheed, small defender Adam Carter, midfielders Brant Colledge and Simon Tunbridge, ruckman forward Scott Lycett and utility player Ash Smith.

In addition, key forward Fraser McInnes and youngsters Malcolm Karpany, Dylan Main and Will Maginness will also play.

The Royals had an unfortunate fixture with a bye a fortnight ago and then joining the rest of the competition which had last weekend off, with the exception of those players selected in the state team.

The game will start at 6.35pm at Patersons Stadium and the Royals will be expecting a strong challenge from the Red Legs.

If I didn't live so far from Subi I'd probably get down to check it out.

Very good to see my boy Maginness getting a run.

LF

Yeah it`s good they are getting a run(Malcolm Karpany, Dylan Main and Will Maginness will also play)
As they have been playing mainly in the reserves team

They had Main and Karpany as emergencies early today? Must be some late changes

A lot of kids in that East Perth side. Wonder what Norwood are paying

Colledge got flowered up at the end there. running with the flight of the ball, bloke coming the other way (Lycett I think) jumped and knee'd Colledge right in the face. looked like it hurt a little bit

literally like a minute to go in the game

Emerging midfielder Brant Colledge is feeling a little worse for wear after a sickening last-minute collision in the Foxtel Cup match with Norwood last night.

While the Royals advanced to the semi-finals with a comprehensive victory over the Red Legs, the focus fell on the clash between Colledge and his West Coast teammate Scott Lycett.

With a minute left on the clock, Colledge was tracking the flight of the ball as he ran deep inside the East Perth forward 50. Coming the other way, leading up the ground, was the powerful figure of Lycett, who launched at the ball and unfortunately collected Colledge at full tilt.

While medical staff attended to Colledge, the game was stopped and eventually the final siren sounded with Colledge still in the hands of the Royals medical team

Assisted from the ground, he was taken to hospital and was released after an examination.

Colledge has a laceration under his eye and a mild concussion, but is otherwise fine.

There are no facial fractures or other injuries, but he will have a few quiet days as he recovers from the match and that incident.

Up to that stage, both Colledge and Lycett had been key players in the dominant performance by the Royals, who won the contest 9.11 (65) to 2.3 (15) and controlled the game from the outset.

Other impressive performances for East Perth came from Simon Tunbridge, Malcolm Karpany and Ashley Smith.

Holy shower that is a nasty hit.

On another note, Norwood! :'( Lost so many players to the AFL the last couple of years, couldn't match it with your boys last night!

Great news that he's ok, could have been so so so much worse. Would have been doubly shattering given the state of the game.

This is a great advertisement for mouthguards when you compare it to the Yeo incident!

Mr.Craig

That's probably the nastiest thing I've seen since Lewis got wiped out.

Nige

Wow, that looked terrible.

When I saw the mouthguard go flying, I was actually happy to see that he had one...
