I think this is best used for forwards and to a lesser degree defenders.

For mids you need to be concerned more about the quality of the opponents tagger/s rather than the actual opponent. Same deal with ruckmen. A number of the higher ranked teams have weak ruck divisions.

I think a chart like this is more for determining ladder positions, futures etc

I wouldn't let this influence my SC decisions too much, if at all
Really?? I'm definitely considering teams with lighter fixtures for players that beat up on weak teams and most especially forwards.

+1 - I think it makes a huge difference, its why I've chosen Selwood this week as they haven't got it too bad for the rest of the year.

See quite often a weak team with only one player going 100+ when they get smashed while the winning team has 6+ over 100.

I'm also considering putting in players whose teams are pushing for finals contention towards the end of the season. If a team is sitting comfortably in the top four, its more likely a gun is gonna get the red vest to make sure his right for the finals. However teams sitting 6th to 10th need their best on the field to make sure they make it.

can you please explain the average points difference??

is it players scoring better against Melbourne (+55 on their ave) rather than Freo (-60 on their ave)

Average For/Against diff for the team mate. They're assessing a teams' run home rather than players and their fantasy scoring
ok thanks, so teams score more easily against Dees rather than Freo

the only issue i have with this is that fyfe could be rested and i dont want the newest superpremo on the blocked to be rested ever

I was seriously going with Griffen but this just might flower that up totally....need to get in a Freeo gun.... >:(

Fact: Griffen scores better against quality opposition. For a comparison, Libba is the complete opposite, don't know why but that's how it has played out in the past.

Last year -

vs Port (176)
vs Rich (119 & 143)
vs Coll (129)
vs Haw (140)
vs Syd (126)
vs Carl (114)
vs Freo (89)

Average = 129.5

This sums it up perfectly.

You have to take into consideration the draw when bringing in forwards and defenders. The harder the draw, generally the more ball in defense and vice versa.

For your mids you just pick the best scorers and back them in, for the rucks if you were to trade you would look at individual match-ups.

I did a quick little check on Barlow today but deleted my note so I can't post it here.

From memory it was:
Average vs 2014 pre-bye teams from 2013: 103
Average pre-bye: 106

Average vs 2014 post-bye teams from 2013 (includes scores vs teams from this year): 108

So overall I wouldn't be overly-optimistic on Barlow.

Fyfe on the other hand.....hmmmmm...

Worth re visiting the 'run home' thread for some that like to look at it to evaluate a last trade decision??
Saints have Suns/Dogs/Swans/tigers/Crows- not a bad run home.
Joey-R Stanley maybe handy.

I guess you are basing that on his last score would you really want him in your team the rest of his scores bar a couple are rubbish $360000 and avg. of 73 there must be better available than him Asparagus  ::)
