There's actually debate over that Josh Lalor catch? Yes the laws were changed a few years back, but as long as the first contact is within the field of play, then further contact can be made even if they jump from a position outside the field of play.

yeah I don't get the controversy at all. clearly a legal catch I thought

and it was a brilliant catch

So you can stand on the fence to catch  the ball aslong as you land in the field of play? It was 6 everyday

no cos first contact has to be made with the player still in play, which he was. he can't stand on the other side of the rope and jump back in

the catch was no different to any other

to go on with it a bit imagine it was Sandilands who took the catch, but didn't juggle it, he just took it with his feet in play and he stretched back like a metre or something. so, he took the catch a metre over the boundary, but with his feet still in play. it's the same principle, a clear catch

I have white in my fantasy side so not out every day... Hahahha. But seriously.. They probably need to further clarify the rule. Because it's kind of something that hasn't happened yet but was eventually going to. I really don't know if it should of been out or not. But they need to be 100% sure in future. So come up with a rule which says yes that's fine.. Or no you can only leave field of play once or whatever....

But as he jumped from outside of the boundary until he touched down inside the line he should have been considered out of bands

That was the bit that changed recently. The first contact has to be from within (Or jumping from within) the field of play. The second contact can be what Lalor did, jump from outside the rope and make contact in the air. Previously ALL contact had to start from within the field of play.
