i agree it is quite shocking fans would boo

but i do also want to ask
why did you post it just in the essendon section and not the swans?
it doesn't actually say it was essendon fans who booed?

kinda seems like your implying it was all essendon fans

Mailman the 2nd

It could've been Swans fans yes, although very unlikely because:

1) The crowd has predominatly Essendon considering it was at Etihad. There weren't enough Sydney supporters to have a reaction that loud
2) The crowd were booing the umpires for every decision that went against Essendon.

Not to mention Michael Hibberd implies it was the home fans in his tweets.

Lots of bad calls during the game but to jeer a human being for being stretched of the ground is below low.

Vinny

Yeah that was extremely low. Injury is bad whether it is player or umpire.

i would be willing to make a very large bet most crowds would have done the same thing i'm sure they regret it in the heat of the moment when fans are passionate during games they sometimes cant control them selves

i'm not saying it's right

just saying no point having a go at the people at the ground Swans Supporters or Essendon Supporters when it would prob happen at any game

kilbluff1985

and it says it was a small minority of crowd

good point

essendon does have some feral fans
let's not forget the actually cheering of stanton being sub years ago

on a bright note for the bombers
our trainers and Doc reid were over their quickly which was great to see

really annoys me that at essendon and other clubs for that fact
that it seems to have a % of the crowd that seem to attend the games reguarly are actually a terrible representation of the club they say they support

DazBurg

on a lighter side i was having dinner with BP/ Nas/ And nostradamus
(which was a great time may i add)

and said to Nostra
that it shows why some are umpires and some are footballers
Malceski initially was a little hurt but by the time they were stretching off the umpire Malceski was fine

could it be simply Malceski was hit in a different spot or are footballers condition to taking knocks more?

(i.e i know a hard hit can knock anyone out but i mean diving in for balls etc week in week out
they would be bumping heads with various strength more then say the umpire)

Mailman the 2nd

Think Malceski caught the umpire in the back of the head which is much less protected than the front, although conditioning probably played a factor too.

Yeah agreed, I think it would've happend at most AFL games, which is quite disgusting.
