I'd rather go 2 mid-pricers than a gun + $180k rookie averaging 50  ;)

It also depends on who you are considering in that range as a mid price player. For example Monfries and Walters vs BJ and Salem

$340,600 and $383,000 is combo a in price - total price: $723,600

$548,800 $185,00 is combo b - total price $733,800

You save 10k with combo a

You get 90 and 90 at best from combo a and that is being generous to both for a total of 180 and at their price only one of those could be used as a stepping stone in Gus. I would expect maybe a 90 and 80 is more realistic which is a 170

105 and 60 from combo b and you have one guy that is a 100% lock to be a keeper. so you are getting 5 less points a game for certainty, some cash generation and will be expecting to burn the trade on Salem to upgrade/downgrade later on.

If you are going for certainty then I would still prefer combo b since premium forwards are expected to go for a 100+ average this season and neither Gus or Walters will get to that point

But what about the cash generation? if Monfries can get to $460k and JMart can get to $420k, and Salem gets to $300k, that's twice the cash generation.

Mat0369

But that means you are burning at least 2 trades and more likely 3 in the case of those guys to upgrade. You would use 2 at max if Salem got to 300k and you are already starting with a keeper in Goddard. So you get a keeper and cash generation of 120k vs having to upgrade two players that earn the same cash as your cheaper option. Yes it might be easier to upgrade them but you still have to burn both the trades.

If you are picking mid price guys in the 300k range in the forward line or down back you need them to turn into keepers more often then not. This year might be the exception down back with almost 0 rookies that look likely and maybe only one or two guys in the 200-300k range, but only in the mids would I pick someone in that price range.

SHIZEN! wow haha i didnt even see that my mistake!

meow meow

His voice is too high pitched for my liking. Won't be picking him.

bkp130

Is he a must have this season?

Seems everyone has him but he is so akwardley priced.

Really want him in my side but not sure i can afford him.

Ricochet

Yes mate, get him in. He has great JS and playing a SC friendly role

totally agree

bkp130

Yeah i think you are right. Trying to convince myself not to do it but given he averaged 85 in the NAB i think it would be silly to go in without him.

Jackross10

Not good so far. Only round 1, not stressing

Ricochet

Yeh he was always going to be a bit of a rollercoaster, but will still be a good pick

RaisyDaisy

Just remind yourself, there aren't going to be many cheaper fwd options who have the JS and scoring ability Salem does

tommy10

Dirt cheap and excellent JS. Settle down peeps, he will make you $$$
