According to Damian Barrett on the Rush Hour's Mid-Week Rub today the word out of the West is that Nic Nat was looking at a 3-4 year deal to stay so when West Coast offered him 5 years at the start of negotiations it was basically a done-deal that he was going to stay.

They sorted out the $$ quick and deal done.
