Yeah, I agree. Not sure why AXVs can't follow the WXVs and BXVs (teams from this round, plus bye teams from next round) method or even EXVs (division matches).

We voted to keep it how it is for this season with regular matches.

I'm sure that this will be added to the list of rules to vote on at seasons end.

Its not a massive issue is it? Realistically everyone is in the same boat, because at some point over the 3 rounds we will have to field a depleted team. And it adds a bit of uncertainty. A bottom team could have close to their strongest 15 and upset a depleted top team. I do agree we are trying to reflect real life AFL but there are other things like the sub rule that would be of an issue than these 3 rounds of the year.
