Hey guys,

Been reading here forever, decided today I need some help. Below is my team, already made the move from Mitchell to Burgoyne. I think Burg will be good as a final defender so happy with that instead of Hibberd or similar, but thats where I become stuck...

I'm projected to have roughly 1,300 points, most of my competitions thats projected to win in all except one which is ok... Also have 25 trades in hand + 250k cash following the Mitchell trade...

Can anyone see how I can improve positions, I think I need to do something with Grundy but I don't know where to go with him... appreciate advice overall. I'd hope by the end of the byes I had Bartel, Watson and in the final week I plan to downgrade a few like Dunstan, Mcdonald or JKH and pick up a premium in those spots. Havent lost a game yet btw.

Cheers, Met.

Wow you've really held back from upgrading, only 12 premiums!

Crouch > Hartung/Hallahan
Mitchell > Simpson
Luke McDonald > Hibberd

Then fix up your midfield next week.

Yep played largely teams below 6th so far for most of the season so not had a need to upgrade just let cash grow.

Any reason you'd preference Simpson over Burg?

MontyJnr

Since 2011, Burgoyne hasn't averaged more than 85 across a season. He usually starts the season off strong and then drops off. Will he get more attention with a tag now that Mitchell is out? Personally I think Simpson is more reliable.

Fair enough appreciate the input. I'm not sure on the trade down to Hartung / hallahan though wondering if Acres might have more security in a thin st kilda side over the next month?

Those changes give me 1595 with Roughy as VC and Sandi as C but havent given them much thought.

I'm aiming to fix up rucks next week I think Grundy doing my head in.

MontyJnr

I'd look at picking up Jacobs or Mumford after their bye

You need to consider that you currently have 2/3 donuts (fielding 16 players if all play, that includes Clurey... so possibly 15), so upgrading Grundy and LMac would seem like a good idea - however with only 250k that will be hard. I would downgrade LMac and upgrade Grundy, pray like anything Clurey gets named... that or as much as I hate to say it, tank... Think about future upgrades as you have a lot of trades (relatively) but little money so you're going to need downgrades, probably time to start thinking about the longer term...

Just had a look too and the person I play this week is in the same boat as me, even if they trade 3 its not possible for them to have 18, most likely 16.

Knowing Mitchell has to go is fine, so I guess the best option is going to be committing to moving him for eitehr Hibberd or Simpson, moving Crouch for Hartung or Acres depending on selection/subs, and then with my last trade do that Saturday morning where I can either upgrade LMac or downgrade him depending on the selections of opposition.

GCSkiwi

I looked at the numbers earlier in relation to someone elses team, and I reckon you're better to keep Crouch and offload Langdon, even though Langdon has a -ve BE. apart from 2 tons, he's typically scored 65. Crouch on the other hand if you take out his first game where he got 45 as the sub, he's scored around 80. So Langdon has a low BE because of a ton last week, but in time I think Crouch can score better and rise more. Given Langdon has more value right now I think he's a better player to turf out. Will make more in the next 2 weeks than Crouch will but beyond that I doubt it...

Come on Junior,

Cotchin still counts as a premium doesn't he?

Include him and that team has 13 premiums.

I think you should get rid of LMcD. High BE - no points this week - lose money next week.

Simpson or Hibberd over Burgoyne for me too.

Sort of hard with no decent def rookies but maybe desperate times call for desperate measures - Gardiner? Or dare I say it the ponytailed shoemaker from Hawthorn??! Eek.

If you don't need to trade and can drop a match up then just get Simpson and Hibberd for Mitchell and LMcD? If you can afford it.

I was (perhaps unfairly) not including Heppell. There is every chance he won't be in the top 20 of his position (or even the top 30!).

So boned. Georgiou not named. Other person appears to be in a worse position for me. As I said Mitchell to Hibberd or Simpson, will hold on the other two to see who the other person names/trades and make a call after the start of the round.

Reviewed my options will most likely go;

Mitchell to Simpson

If Acres isn't sub;

Crouch to Acres

Will give me $363,300 to work with next week.

Next week I think LMac to Hanley as he decreases massively in price potentially. I have plenty to trades to take the risk/reward on hanley with so many already having dropped him. He'll be at roughly $425,000

What do you guys think?
