Coach Brenton Sanderson says he expects exciting rookie Charlie Cameron to get a look in at AFL level "pretty soon".

Recruited with Adelaide's first pick in last year's Rookie Draft, Cameron has showed promising signs in his first six months at the Club. The lightly-framed forward kicked four goals and laid six tackles against Glenelg a fortnight ago. He was quieter against the Port Magpies, who assigned Power-listed player Tom Logan to him.

The Crows have the capacity to upgrade a rookie because of long-term injuries to skipper Nathan van Berlo (Achilles) and utility Ricky Henderson (Ankle), and Sanderson said the fierce-tackling 19-year-old was edging closer to an AFL debut.

"Charlie is a really dynamic small forward for us. We'll see him pretty soon, I reckon," Sanderson told

"He's high energy player, a goalkicker and applies defensive pressure. A mate of mine went out to watch our SANFL team play at Glenelg the other week and he said, 'I'm going to get a Crows jumper and put No.42 on the back'. He wants to get in before the rush."

Sorta hoping he comes in for Jaenschy but can see either Otten, Martin or Ellis-Yolmen to get that defencive role

we know he wont come in for Tommy as the Great man gets that gig ;D

But yeah, can't wait now for a debut :D

Looks a bit of a gem this one. Will be interesting where he plays, wether we'll play him alongside Eddie Betts.

Cam Ellis-Yolman has been getting plenty of the ball in the reserves but his foot skills are terrible at the moment. The last thing we need is more blokes who turn it over in the back half. *looks at Brent Reilly and shakes head*

Massive fan of Brodie Martin. Has had plenty of chances in the AFL side but doesn't seem to do enough when he gets the chance. Would prefer to play him across half forward then down back.

Andy Otten I think is the most likely to take Jaenschy's spot. Has god skills, good desicion maker and a leader which is what we probably need at the moment. Wether he's up to the pace if AFL is the question. Has looked a bit slow in the reserves.
