This week sees the first of the byes and will be a split round with Round 8 covering Round 8 AFL scores+ the scores from Adelaide, North Melbourne, Gold Coast, Richmond, Collingwood and Geelong in Round 9.
As a result of this there will be 2 lock outs Round 8 Players will be locked at bounce of Swans/Hawks Game on Friday 9th May and Round 9 Players at Bounce of Crows/Pies game on Thursday May 15th

Round 8 Draw

1. Swansea Breakers v Bradford Badgers @ Swalec Stadium
Breakers have been hit by injurry so should be a win to Badgers but depends on which Badgers team turns up.
2. Winchester Werewolves v Newcastle Falcons @ The Rose Bowl
This will be a test for the Falcons but if they bring their A game may consign Werewolves to their first defeat.  Game of the Round.
3. Crosby Cruisers v  Liverpool Rams @  Ewood Park
Will be a close games both teams on the improve and should be a good game.
4. Huddersfield Hawks v Manchester Magic @ Galpharm Stadium
Both teams coming off close losses last week and will e keen to get back on the winning list. Hawks may be the favourites
5. Leeds Leeches  v  Hastings Hurricanes @ Elland Road Stadium
Both teams coming off losses as well. Hurricanes should win but will the mental scaring from the Werewolves clash still be present.
6. Swindon Swaggers v  Blackpool Bunnies @ The County Ground
Swaggers recorded a good win last week and may be too strong for the Bunnies
7. Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs v Grope Lane Giants @ Todmorden Sports Centre
Hedgehogs should easily account for the Giants who are yet to taste success.
8. Nottingham Hoods v Oxford Owls @ Trent Bridge
Hoods should be too strong for the improving Owls who recorded their highest score for the season. Upset here though may be on the cards if last weeks form can be maintained
9. Staines Steins  v  Birmingham Dragons  @ Wheatsheaf Park
Steins had their first win of the season and will be wanting to continue against the Dragons. Another close game which can go either way.

PLEASE NOTE WHEN EDITING TEAMS USE THE QUOTE FUNCTION RATHER THAN EDIT FUNCTION Reason for this is that I do not go back and check teams once they have been recorded and only edit those that come up modified. So by editing you may be missing out on points especially if you do not post scores as that is where I have been picking up discrepancies.

Please also read the North v South challenge later today to see process for the challenge.

I am confused by what you mean by this. As far as I can see you can only modify or quote your posts? Do you actually mean to say please quote your post or make a new one or to modify (edit) scores in to your original team post (which is a but dodgy).

Maybe only mods can edit posts?

Thank you Memph. So can you just use Quote rather than modify.  Will amend original post.  Too many functions on mod tabs.!! HaHa just for Vinny.

How does this round work exactly Ringo? The majority of our team (seriously all but a few guys) play two games in Round 8 and Round 9. Do we get both their scores combined? Or an average of both? Or their best effort? Or do we have to nominate which round we want a certain player's score for?

This seems like something which should have been clarified earlier. Unless I've missed something...

It's in the first sentence Memph.

AFL Round 8 scores of the teams that do play this week, AFL Round 9 scores of those who don't.

Ringo

Sorry only logging on - And will be this way for the next 2 days so excuse my  brief apearances.

Nigey is correct that the players with the byes only will have their scores added to this weeks scores. Note only applies to Round 8 bye players.  eg If Rockliff scores 120 this week and 160 next week 120 is his score not 160.  Pendles scores 140 next week 140 is his score.

Also remember there is partial lock out as well for round 9 players only.

Hopefully that explains for you.

Memphistopheles

Ok well here's the updated team as I named Hunter twice.

Staines Steins

Def: Dean Terlich, Nathan Grima, Lee Spurr, Rhys Stanley
Mid: Kieren Jack (C), Tendai Mzungu, Josh Kelly, Ryan Lester (VC)
Ruc: Mark Jamar
For: Kurt Tippett, Jamie Elliott, Lewis Jetta, Josh Jenkins
Uti: Harry Cunningham, Lachie Hunter
Sub: Elliott Yeo (Def)
E: Ryan Crowley (M), Ivan Maric (R), Kristian Jaksch (F)

I'm still a bit uncertain. There's no way we can get a Round 9 score for player who doesn't have a bye in Round 8 (a Round 10 bye player) is there?

For example could we name Maric and then if he doesn't play next week name Jamar instead and get his score. Or is Jamar locked out after playing in Rd 8?

Nige

As a Richmond supporter, I can guarantee you that Ivan won't play Round 9.

Round 10 maybe, but not next week.

I was just using him as an example. The other player we could do this with would perhaps be Nathan Gordon. If we name him and he gets dropped can we then only name a Rd 9 player to take his spot?
