I vote to get rid of loopholing next year. Just assumed it was frowned upon.

how would you do that whatlez? Just the one lock out?  Or leave it to ringo's discretion?

All players you name on field must be named in Thursday/Friday teams (based on the time the teams were submitted)

Then if somebody names somebody not named (attempts to loophole) they only get covered at 1/2 points.
This. Pretty basic, not sure if Ossie didn't know the answer or was serious.

Well, that does not work.

Ringo already only has a single lockout which works for most rounds

But this split round the other 6 teams haven't even been named yet

Basically you just don't captain someone who is named for week 2

That punishes those with players like Ablett and Pendlebury.

Oh I said it wrong, basically captain someone who is NAMED EITHER WEEK ONE OR WEEK TWO.

Oh looks there whatlez' side. Their vice captain is Dion Prestia and cause Dion scored 200, let's make Beau Waters captain even though he's out for the season.

An element of risk still remains.  Prestia could score 45, so you name John Smith captain but he later pulls out, and your stuck with Prestia

How are you meant to know if the player you name week 1 as captain will actually be named week 2? You suggesting you should be then forced to name a spud as captain because all the other players are locked?

What about emergencies?

just needs to be thought through whatlez,  far from basic as you suggest

Why don't we either not play through byes or play 3 games and rub out the North vs South?

Why don't we either not play through byes or play 3 games and rub out the North vs South?

because with 18 teams you can't avoid the bye

And you may as well just flip a coin if you play with 6 afl teams missing each round

it works fine as it is

this way you have 17 rounds with 18 afl teams available

you add bias any other way
