Are we surprised at how high Patrick McKenna went? I'm having trouble actually finding a player profile on him haha

Pk and I on chat had no idea who he was at first, had to google after the draft to find out more about him. Certainly was a shock pick!

I'm not, he just underwent a shoulder reconstruction and won't play next year.

I'm gutted about that, really getting tired of the same type of one-paced footballer year in, year out. Compare that Stephen Wells who picked up Cockatoo after trading up from 14. Brilliant mind who can see upside where others can't.

I think he was a surprise because he only recently picked footy before cricket, since he was captain of the U19 Australia team.

Not really, they have performed really well in the WAFL & SANFL, Blakely is the best clearance player in the pool, his only weakness is kicking depth but I suspect this will improve as he gains strength. NB has starred in the SANFL, he has a 30 possession game to his name and he too wins a stack of clearances. Both will do exceedingly well.

Big call but I'm running with my gut feelings here, I see so much Luke Dunstan in Blakely, very similar types and I really rate Dunstan. The Freo midfield will be a tough nut to crack but guys like Barlow & Mundy aren't getting any younger. At 37 he's a massive steal.

As for NB, he just looks like a footballer to me, he's not quick but he has a monster tank and has the strength and agility to get out of trouble. I actually ranked these two as very early second rounders, reckon they are bargains for Freo & Melbourne.
