Any word on Billy Stretch?

Billy's played three games for the Glenelg seniors. Averaging 11 disposals, 3 marks, 2 tackles and has kicked one goal.

Played against him a few years ago - never seen somebody accumulate the ball like he did. He's a member of the AIS Academy and is being watched very closely by Melbourne as a father-son prospect. He'll get much better with a full year in the SANFL system, even though he's a Year 12 (but SANFL League and Reserves come before school footy AFAIK).

Size may prove an issue - he has a very slight frame - but his skills are very smooth and he has a great mix of endurance and speed. I reckon he's got what it takes to make the AFL, if Melbourne don't take him he'll probably go 25-50 is my guess.

Round 1 of the U18 Champs kicked off yesterday, with VIC Country winning by 15 points over VIC Metro

Was a very tight game all the way through, with Patrick McCartin and Hugh Goddard combining for five goals. Caleb Marchbank was very good in defence, while Tom Lamb was quiet early but kicked two in the last quarter to seal the game. Keep an eye on Darcy Parish, who was one of the best on ground and is firming as a hot prospect for 2015.

For Metro, Darcy Moore was a let-down, getting only 6 touches, but Touk Miller and Angus Brayshaw (30+ touches) were both very good. Marc Pittonet was good in the ruck whilst Rory Sheridan-Ferrie - nice name - kicked four goals. Dillion Viojo-Rainbow - that's an ever better name - was good off half-back too.

As some may know, Terry Wallace has a rolling draft that he shows viewers of TAC Future Stars every week. I try watch it every week as it's a show I'm interested in and enjoy.

Posted about Richmond's pick in our board and got a few questions about other clubs so I figured I'd start this thread and try get the pic of it weekly (can't be bothered uploading the pic, so will just type it up).

Managed to snap a pic of this week's and so here it is:

NB: This was done before the start of the the round (hence why Brisbane has Pick 1).

1. Brisbane - Pat McCartin (geelong falcons - tall fwd)
2. GWS - Christian Petracca (eastern ranges - med fwd)
3. St Kilda - Sam Durdin (west adelaide - tall fwd)
4. Melbourne - Angus Brayshaw (sandringham dragons - mid)
5. Bulldogs - Peter Wright (calder cannons - tall fwd)
6. Richmond - Jarrod Pickett (south freo - mid/sml fwd)
7. Carlton - Tom Lamb (dandenong stingrays - tall fwd)
8. West Coast - Clem Smith (south freo - sml def)
9. Adelaide - Lachlan Weller (broadbeach - med mid)
10. North Melbourne - Caleb Marchbank (murray bushrangers - tall def)

What I can say is this is very dependent on ladder position (which obviously changes weekly), form (which again, can cause a player to rise or fall) and needs (in a draft like this, Brisbane and Carlton not grabbing tall fwds would be strange).

JBs-Hawks

Surely Goddard would be up top 5?

Toga

Peter Wright has slipped from early predicitons then

He was in there last week. Didn't really talk about him at all this week.

I think it just depends on who the selectors want. Obviously, there are quite a number of tall fwds available.

No change to the names in the top 10.

Just a bit of movement ladder wise.

1. GWS - Christian Petracca (eastern ranges - med fwd)
2. St Kilda - Patrick McCartin (geelong falcons - tall fwd)(
3. Brisbane - Peter Wright (calder cannons - tall fwd)
4. Melbourne - Angus Brayshaw (sandringham dragons - mid)

6. Richmond - Jarrod Pickett (south freo - mid/sml fwd)
7. Carlton - Tom Lamb (dandenong stingrays - tall fwd)
8. West Coast - Clem Smith (south freo - sml def)
9. Adelaide - Lachlan Weller (broadbeach - med mid)
10. North Melbourne - Caleb Marchbank (murray bushrangers - tall def)

Paige Cardona's released her first Phantom Draft for the year for those that are interested.

http://boundforglorynews.com/paige-cardonas-phantom-draft-1-0/

Was definitely an interesting read to say the least, not sure I agree on some of the picks, but it's still a pretty decent indication this early on.

It's probably best for learning about the players, how they're doing and what clubs may opt for.

Vinny

Tom Lamb sounds good from what I just read haha.

I cannot be stuffed looking into the draft yet but good indicator.

kilbluff1985

yeah i doubt Essendon will take a tall with our first pick

I don't think you will either tbh.

Mr.Craig

I really rate Petracca, but ahead of Brayshaw? I'm not sure about that.

Also, if the Hawks get Miller I will seriously fap.

Hawks don't deserve cause they will sit him in the reserves for years like Hallahan
