Rightly or wrongly sportpersons imo are judged more strongly by the general public than Mr ordinary citizen.   Media is to blame as well as they fuel the public interest. Lets face it and not defending Buddy's actions at all but if I swerved and hit 4 cars would it be news in the National scene.
Whilst Fevola was a liability off the field for us a lot of his indiscretions of the field would not have been reported either if Mr Citizen did them.
Point is that sportspersons probably need to realise the fact they will be under surveillance 24/7 and any minor indiscretion will be reported.
Just trying to put some perspective into the argument.
