Although it is a suspended sentence, he was found guilty and i still think that the pies might not play him for a while

what's the advantage of the suspended sentence? Just that he can play out his contract?

It was actually  an alright outcome for williams- he was always going to cop jail time, and frankly I thought he'd get 2 years.

Pretty sure a suspended sentence means he doesnt actually have to serve any time?

Correct me if wrong??

Yeah, I think you are, kind of

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspended_sentence

So basically, if he  flowers up again he'll go to jail for the 12 months+ whatever he flowered up again, but if he doesn't screw up in 12 months, he's fine. So, it's actually a best case scenario for williams.

What a load of shower. The Australian judicial system is a flowering joke.

The system is a joke.. You're not wrong there! If he got caught selling the smallest amount of drugs and making $$$ he would go for 20 years! Funny how it works...

CrowsFan

So the judge says prison is the only option for him, and then suspends the sentence? That makes sense!

Very lucky boy! Especially after what Newman got!

Noz

If Williams gets reported in the AFL or VFL does he go to jail?
