Mailman the 2nd

Laidler is playing in the back 50 most of the time and Horse is happy with the inside midfield that he wants to see more crumbing small mid/forwards like Jetta, Rohan and Cunningham get better.

Jetta certainly clicked last night and I think with time Cunningham or Rohan can do the same but O'keefe doesn't really fit into those categories

elephants

Cunners was verrrrry quiet last night :( Killed my RDT!

Mailman the 2nd

Usually boosts his score with a couple of goals but was well held. Also I think 7/9 disposals were handballs for him

Any news on O'Keefe? I'd definitely prefer an O'Keefe in any type of form than Cunningham or Laidler tbh.
He played but no stats yet so not sure on his form in the game but i agree with you

NEAFL player focus for each round have been updated

Capper

So from reading this Nanas is a fair way off the 1s and they are getting Rohan running riot again.

Unsure on how to read Pebbles review as it almost sounds like they have made him the NEAFL captain for the year

NEAFL Wrap: Round 1
Player Focus:

Each week, the Sydney Swans development coaches, Josh Francou, Jared Crouch and Nick Davis will highlight the performances of some of the Swans' NEAFL players.

These players are those who contributed well on game day, made improvements or played a significant role for the Swans.

Swans Reserves Player of the Week - Matthew Dick
Sunday's game was one of Matt's better games for the club. It started with his defensive acts, which gave him the confidence to get more involved in moving the ball.

He looked strong in the contest and provided run and carry from the defensive half of the ground, which allowed him to link up and help set up some inside 50s.

The round one match has now become a benchmark game for Matt, and his challenge now is to keep building on this for the game against UWS this Sunday.

Key stats: 16 kicks, 8 handballs, 13 marks, 6 spoils.

Dan Robinson
Sunday's game was a terrific game on-ball by Dan. He was able to find plenty of the footy and notched up a game-high 38 possessions. His stoppage work was also good, extracting a number of clearances to our advantage and his pressure around the contest was terrific.

Key stats: 19 kicks, 19 handballs, 10 marks, 2 tackles

Jake Lloyd
Jake had a great game against the Lions. His stoppage work was good and so was his spread. He managed to find plenty of the ball and on most occasions used it to the teams advantage.

Key stats: 26 kicks, 11 handballs, 8 marks, 1 goal, 3 tackles

Jeremy Laidler
It was a really solid game from Laids. He found plenty of the ball across the half-back line and used it well by foot going forward. He read the ball well and was able to intercept on a number of occasions, and also provided voice and direction to the younger defenders.

Key stats: 28 kicks, 6 handballs, 7 marks, 3 tackles

Aliir Aliir
It was great to see one of our draftees have a good game first up against the Lions with his tackling and spoiling a feature. Aliir also read the play well and was able to intercept on a number of occasions.

Key stats: 10 kicks, 4 marks 6 tackles.

NEAFL Wrap: Round 2
Player Focus:

Each week, the Sydney Swans development coaches, Josh Francou, Jared Crouch and Nick Davis will highlight the performances of some of the Swans' NEAFL players.

These players are those who contributed well on game day, made improvements or played a significant role for the Swans.

Swans Reserves Player of the Week - Dan Robinson

This weekend's game was yet another good game from Dan, who was also one of our best performers over the pre-season.

He's been our most consistent inside midfielder in our first two matches and continues to show poise in contested situations.

Dan's offensive spread was also good, but in the coming weeks we'd like to see him work on his opponent awareness to help him take his game to the next level.

Key stats: 29 disposals, 14 contested possessions, 10 clearances.

George Hewett
We were able to get more game time into George this week, which saw him play 70 minutes. As soon as he came on the ground in the second quarter, he made an impact by getting his hands on the ball on numerous occasions and moving it forward. He also showed, on several occasions, that he has time and space and terrific awareness in traffic.

Key Stats: 22 disposals, 16 contested possessions, eight clearances one goal.

Shane Biggs
Due to Shane's interrupted pre-season, we have had to manage his game time over the last few weeks. This week, however, he played over 95 per cent of the match and is now nearing full fitness. He found plenty of the ball down back and was able to provide run, and also distributed the ball very well by foot.

Key Stats: 28 disposals, eight marks and 16 handball receives

Jake Lloyd
This week's match was another solid performance from Jake. He continues to find plenty of the ball and usually uses it to advantage. His stoppage work and offensive spread was also a strength of his game this week.

Key Stats: 30 disposals, three tackles, one goal.

Patrick Mitchell
Special mention must go to our International Rookie, Patrick Mitchell, who kicked his first goal this week. Patty kicked his first goal in his football career in the second quarter of Sunday's game after taking a nice mark inside forward 50 - and didn't the boys love it! It has been and will continue to be a steep learning curve for Patty but in just his third game of AFL he has shown steady improvement. He has shown he has good physical presence on field and his distribution by hand has also been good.

Key Stats: Seven disposals, five hit outs and one goal.

NEAFL Wrap: Round 3
Player Focus:

Each week, the Sydney Swans development coaches, Josh Francou, Jared Crouch and Nick Davis will highlight the performances of some of the Swans' NEAFL players.

These players are those who contributed well on game day, made improvements or played a significant role for the Swans.

NEAFL Player of the Week - Shane Biggs
Shane's form has been building after a limited pre-season. Having played predominantly down back with some time spent on the wing, Biggsy provided plenty of run and carry from the back half and linked up with the midfielders to set up a number of scoring opportunities.

Key Stats: 31 disposals, three tackles, four spoils

Craig Bird
It was a dominant, but not unexpected, performance from Birdy, who amassed 24 kicks and 22 handballs. He was in everything from start to finish. He also took some strong marks, had numerous clearances to advantage and used the ball well.

Key Stats: 46 disposals, nine marks, four tackles

Harrison Marsh
It was an improved performance from Marshy this week playing mainly on ball. He was able to impact the game with his physical presence at stoppages and was able to get some outside ball with better spread this week. He will be looking to build on this in the coming weeks.

Key Stats: 27 disposals, five blocks and two goals

Zak Jones
Having played down back for the last two games, Zak had an influential game - particularly in the first half where he was able to affect five spoils and two intercepts. It was also pleasing to see a more consistent output to his defensive cover throughout the game.

Key Stats: 16 disposals, three marks, three tackles, and six spoils

Tim Membrey
It was a terrific game from Members kicking eight goals. He provided a consistent target up forward for our midfielders and defenders to kick to and it was pleasing to see him rewarded for effort. We have seen Members building over the first three rounds and the challenge for him is to build on this in the coming weeks.

Key Stats: 21 disposals, 13 marks, eight goals

NEAFL Wrap: Round 4
Player Focus:

Each week, the Sydney Swans development coaches, Josh Francou, Jared Crouch and Nick Davis will highlight the performances of some of the Swans' NEAFL players.

These players are those who contributed well on game day, made improvements or played a significant role for the Swans.

NEAFL Player of the Week - Toby Nankervis
This was Toby's best game for the club. With Sam Naismith out of action, Toby was given more time in the ruck where he had a significant impact on the game giving our midfielders the first look at the ball. When forward, he was able to mark strongly and kick four goals and proved to be a handful for the opposition defenders.

Key Stats: 21 disposals, 10 marks, six tackles, four goals

Shane Biggs
Shane was again influential off the half-back line, and gave plenty of run and drive which saw him finish the game with six rebounds from our defensive half. Biggsy also used the ball superbly by foot this week, hitting targets up the field and inside our forward line. When defending, he was also able to read the ball well and intercepted it on a number of occasions.

Key Stats: 30 disposals, four intercepts

Harrison Marsh
After a relatively slow start to the game, Marshy worked his way into the match after quarter time. With an impressive 25 touches and ten clearances, the standout feature of his game was his finishing in front of goals, which saw him boot three majors for the day. Marshy's hands and awareness in congestion also continues to be a strength for the young player.

Key Stats: 25 disposals, five marks, three tackles, three goals

Zak Jones
It was another good performance from Zak this week. He read the play well and found plenty of the ball amassing 31 touches. Over the last two weeks, Zak has looked more composed when he has the ball and his decision making has been better and he will be looking to build on this in the coming weeks.

Key Stats: 31 disposals, seven marks, seven intercepts and three blocks

Lloyd Perris
Lloyd had a terrific first half, tackling well and finding plenty of the ball. He was busy around the packs and used the ball to advantage on most occasions. His spread from stoppages this week was good and he linked up well and was involved in some good ball movement.

Key Stats: 29 disposals, six marks, one goal

Dan Robinson
It was another very good game from Dan. He continues to find plenty of the ball and was able to clear it to advantage from the stoppages on numerous occasions throughout the game. Dan has spent more time forward over the last two weeks and continues to have shots on goal - he just needs to make the most of his opportunities by finishing off.

Key Stats: 32 disposals, three tackles, one goal

NEAFL Wrap: Round 5
Player Focus:

Each week, the Sydney Swans development coaches, Josh Francou, Jared Crouch and Nick Davis will highlight the performances of some of the Swans' NEAFL players.

These players are those who contributed well on game day, made improvements or played a significant role for the Swans.

NEAFL Player of the Week - Shane Biggs
Shane has been one of our most consistent performers in the first five rounds of the NEAFL season with his ball use by foot a standout feature of his game. He continues to provide plenty of run and carry from defence and also defends well in one-on-one situations.

Key Stats: 24 disposals, three marks

Tom Mitchell
It was a workman-like game from Tom. The wet and heavy conditions suited him perfectly and his hardness around the football was noticeable. He was able to find plenty of the ball in congestion and was able to distribute it by hand to advantage on most occasions.

Key Stats: 32 disposals, 22 handballs, four tackles

Harrison Marsh
Harrison was solid again. Playing forward and on-ball for the first half, he was able to use his strengths in the conditions and get his hands on the ball. After half-time he was moved to the half-back line where he showed good game sense by dropping off to assist at times and good composure when he had the ball.

Key Stats: 14 disposals, two marks, two intercepts

Dan Robinson
It was a pleasing game again for Dan. With more time spent forward in recent weeks, he was able to kick two important goals and look threatening on a number of occasions - especially in the first half. He continues to show poise in traffic and usually uses the ball to his team mates' advantage.

Key Stats: 28 disposals 4 tackles 2 goals

Aliir Aliir
Aliir had a solid game. Whilst there are areas of the defensive side of his game he needs to continually focus on, Aliir's ability to spoil, read the play to intercept, show poise under pressure and use it to advantage were pleasing. He will be looking to build on this in the coming weeks.

Key Stats: 14 disposals, six tackles, eight spoils
