Which premium defender to bring in? Is Jaensch worth the risk for the much cheaper price? Is Bartel too expensive with Hibberd and Simpson available so much cheaper?

Any feedback/comments/justification would be much appreciated!

if you are looking to save cash and upgrade down the track, or in the next coming weeks, go for Jeansch, looks set off half back, and can rake in a few more bucks, not that youll need any the way his travelling, looks like a keeper.

if you're not too fussed about the extra cash, then go Bartel, we all know how he plays against the hawks, that's one of many upsides.

but it really does come down to you, and whether you need the cash or not

Verdict: i'd go Jeansch, we can all use a few extra dollars$$, in case of injury, or a lack of form from other players :)

Bartel or Simpson. Don't think Jaensch will be top 6 and that should be your priority.

Thanks for the comments. Jaensch does seem a likely type for sure, but will he drop off or power towards premium-hood? Getting Jaensch gives me $160,000 leftover. Bartel leaves $20,000.

Jaensch to drop off. Just hasn't got the scoring experience to be backed in to keep all season

Simpson.

Assuming you have a glut of round 8 bye players, Simpson is a must.

Why is he a must? I have never been on him (for not particular reason). But what sets him apart from the others? Or what do the other options lack?

Doggoneit

If you want consistency and not a rd8 bye then go with Hibberd

Bombers are flying and have already played the 2 best teams.

Rusty00

I'd pick Hibberd. Bombers are playing an extremely high possession game and playing it well at the moment.

RaisyDaisy

I started the season with Hibberd and Simpson, so it's no surprise I would recommend one of them

If your going to spend 415k on Jaensch, then surely it makes sense to spend an extra 65k and get the guy who has average 95ish for years on end and rarely ever misses a game

Just not many non round 8 bye defenders with Simpson's scoring potential and durability.

Valid point! Why him over Hibberd?

Flip a coin really. Personally I prefer Hibberd because he very rarely goes under 80, and Simpson does put in the occasional stinker, but at 480k his dirt cheap

I like Hibberd a lot. If its any indication, this year he hasn't dropped under 95 DT, so he's there abouts!
While Simpson definitely has the stinker... Which is why I'm trying to get my head around why everyone is backing Simpson to be the better option? Despite being in a poor team.

tor01doc

Simpson has averaged over 90 for the past 5 or 6 years and hardly missed a game.
