Daisy Thomas and Jimmy Webster are OUT!

Jaench - one of best defenders available, could finish top 10 end of season, 40-50 upgrade from Webster.
Macrae - likely to average more, however only 20-30 point difference to playing him over Ellis/Crouch.

Or spend a little more cash on Simpson or Hibberd.

Who is more valuable to get into my team?

It does seem that way doesn't it... But Macrae just seems like the more consistent and quality player? While Jaench might start to get a bit more attention in the coming weeks?

JBs-Hawks

Well Jaensch could make the top 10 backs. Macrae wont make the top 10 mids.

This is the exact reason, you should go with Jaensch. With Macrae you will have to make another trade, Jaensch you may not need too.

what your team look like? might be better of downgrading daisy to a rookie

Sorry, should have explained. If I pick a defender, I will go Thomas to Crouch. If I pick Macrae, I will go Webster to Crouch, and lose the link from midfield to back. So I think Crouch will be coming in no matter what. Agree?

kilbluff1985

oh right then i'd go Jaensch

but keep in mind you will be gaining two round 8 bye players in Jaensch and Crouch so see how your structure is first make sure you going to have 18 players playing round 8

i might trade Thomas to Jaench, if i do though
i have to keep playing: Polec, Tyson, Dunstan and Ellis

I'm not too concerned with playing those 'elite' rookies though? All 4 of those players should consistently get 70+!

ill switch Thomas with Langdon and move him into the midfield

also ive had to play those 4 rookies the last two weeks due to Fyfe missing.

Yeah super idea I reckon!
Would you be leaning towards Simpson/Hibberd, or Jaensch?

Get on macrae now. At only 411k he is a bargain. Will never get tagged, has great fitness, loves getting the ball and uses it so well. I can see him averaging 110+ all year. Will be a keeper

ronl

I tend to agree with you, Rowan, but there are alot of guys who think he will need to be upgraded, presuming I suppose that  he will run out of steam.  The worse that could happen is that he does run out of steam some time after the byes, if so, you trade him out, but if you were able to get six or seven strong weeks from him, I wouldn't see it as wasting a trade.

This. Also Smith will probably cop more attention before Jaensch does
