MIDFIELDER Jack Trengove will miss the rest of the 2014 season, after scans on his left foot revealed a crack on his navicular bone.

The former co-captain reported soreness after playing for Casey Scorpions against Geelong at Casey Fields on Sunday. Scans on Monday night confirmed the unfortunate news. He will have surgery on Wednesday, with his recovery set to take four months.

Manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said it was a "disappointing outcome for Jack and the club".

Dropped and then injured for the season. A 2014 to forget.  :-\

Edit: If he's placed on the LTI for the Dees, James Harmes might get elevated?

Dammit! When is this kid ever going to step up? This injury just extended that date another year  :'(

I'd guess Jetta would be the first to be elevated

As bad as it sounds, the injury might be good for him. Takes a lot of expectation off of him and hopefully he can focus on himself rather than footy, hopefully finding some of the pace he lost as well. He's still only 22 as well, plenty of time to go.
