hi mate there are other threads around you could look at for help on this topic

i think you should hold Tyson until just before his round 10 bye then upgrade him i'm sure you have enough round 8 bye players don't need another one

Yeah a lot of discussion regarding this already. Tyson > crouch is a wasted trade. His averaging 90 +. Has a bit more money to make.

Agree must be upgraded so hang on for at least another couple of rounds unless you have some cash in the bank and you can afford a gun think he will be leaking cash before his round 10 bye

Not sure I understand what you guys mean? What's the difference? If you chop another cow (Let's say M.Thomas)  and used the cash to upgrade Tyson, that's the same result as if you downgraded Tyson and used the cash to upgrade Thomas...

ie Thomas > Crouch, Tyson > Jelwood is exactly the same as Tyson > Crouch, Thomas > Jelwood...

Tyson's 50 this week is a real spanner, if he'd scored higher then it's a no brainer to hold him, but the 50 decreases his price rise for a few rounds, even if he goes back to 90+. Who is going to be available as a downgrade in round 9/10 if you wait now? That's my concern, Crouch averaging 63 goes up to 250k by round 9, 130k above his price now. Tyson is not going to make 130k between now and then, just because of the 50...

Sort of saying the same thing as you that these trades must result in getting a gun in Thomas > Crouch , Tyson > Selwood or the other way round is fine as long as he has the 90 - 100k in the bank to do it otherwise just wait a couple of weeks Tyson's B/E is only 38 he will still make some cash yet

frogjumper

Expect another 70-100k out of Tyson. Too early to offload.
Maybe look at your other rookie mids.
Ellis, Aish or Cunningham are the only 3 id consider downgrading at this point.
All other rookies still have too much cash to generate to downgrade

I think they're talking about playing Tyson during round 8 and 9 and then upgrading him to a premium with the round 8/9 bye. His round 10 bye means keeping him will result in more points in the long term (effectively skip his bye) and will give potentially two extra weeks of cash generation over a round 8 bye rookie.
