Hanley + NicNat + Rohan - need some wisdom

I have made a mistake with NicNat - thought all was going to be ok after Rd 2, but that is not the case so I need to cut my losses before he bleeds more cash

I also have Hanley who is not worth holding if he is out for 3-6 weeks.

I also want to get rid of the Ranga - his lack of points is not hurting me although his lack of cash generation could.

I have only $13k in bank

The options as I see it are

1 - downgrade Hanley to Suckers and upgrade NicNat to Cox/Minson - Rohan to Lloyd the following week

2 - downgrade NicNat to a mid price Ruck (don't really like this idea) to allow me to upgrade Rohan to Fasolo while he is on the bubble. Hanley to anyone the following week

either option means I have 1 less true premium on the field - Suckers has proved me wrong so far and could yet be a keeper.

Is there any better options?

Option 1, lock in a ruck, and a reliable one. I think Cox or Minson will stand the test of time so both very good options. As for Suckers, strong mid pricer but one with a huge standard deviation, he will burn you on occasion and can get very frustrating. But one thing he will do is make for an easy sideways trade to a premium, something which you may consider down the track. My top 6 backmen are Mitchell, McVeigh, Swallow, Bartel, Simpson & either Enright or Hibberd. Stitch that up early and hopefully minimum maintenace will be required.

I think you're stuck with NicNat in this situation

Hanley -> Birchall
Rohan -> Fasolo

or

Rohan -> Lloyd
Hanley -> Bartel/Hibberd/whoever

If Rohan is an F7/F8 he can wait another week and then bring in Lloyd next week as Nic Nat and Hanley are greater priorities

Hanley to one of the defender's Bully mentioned

Then Nic Nat to Cox/Minson/Goldy or even Sauce

No Nic Nat has to go - I can hold on either of the other two

This was the way I was leaning - my backs were supposed to be set and forget - already had Mitchell out for 1, then Enright out for 1 and now Hanley.

I cant go Nic Nat to Cox/Minson without going Hanley to Suckers or other similar price

Guess I should also mention that I want to avoid a Rd 8 ruck - otherwise Sauce would be a good option

Edit: Hmmm Sauce only $476k,  maybe I should ponder how bad the Rd 8 bye will be - as it would allow me to get say Simpson or Birchall

Don't stress too much about Suckers in the short term, just keep a close eye on his breakeven once he hits premo level. The moment he throws in a 40, which he will do from time to time, cut your losses.

I think you are right - with all the ruck carnage I would rather take a true premo
