Hey there guys,
I'm fairly new to SuperCoach, but this site has definitely provided the goods for me. I'm making this topic here today to, I guess seek advice from all you other coaches out there on how to improve my team. I personally feel like I've made a few bad decisions with the pre-season selections, but I'm hoping to rectify that with your help !

I can tell you one thing that is for sure and that is you spent waaaayyyyyy too much money in the mids. I personally only have 4 premiums mids and when I was looking at your team and saw GAJ, Pendles, Beams, Libba and Cotchin thought to myself yeah ok he has 5 premiums mids until I saw Fyfe on your bench and was like WOW! Hindsight is a beautiful thing but what you needed to do was downgrade Swan to Tyson instead of getting Pendles and then you could have injected some cash into your forward line which is in all sorts seeing you have Impey at F5. You've had some bad luck with Fyfe, McEvoy and Hanley. If I were you I'd almost trade Fyfe cause he is quite prone to shoulder injuries, sub Taylor to the mids and grab a decent forward but also leaving enough cash aside to do your already thought out trade of Impey -> Fasolo. Obviously this will force you to bench Hanley and cop a Georgiou score but I think that beats taking a Taylor and a Impey score. GL

I eventually went with:
Pearce Hanley > Matthew Jaensch
Tom Mitchell > Alex Fasolo
which has paid off with Jaensch scoring 110 and Fasolo 132.

made about 300k from that too! nice

2272 with Gary Ablett as captain.

Maximum possible score would have been 2368 with Jay Kennedy-Harris and Matt Crouch on field instead of Lewis Taylor and Luke Dunstan, and if I had put the Captain on Patrick Dangerfield instead of Gary Ablett.

Happy with the performances of those who cracked the ton:
Trent Cotchin, Alex Fasolo, Scott Pendlebury, Dayne Beams, Nathan Fyfe, Aaron Sandilands, Matthew Jaensch, Patrick Dangerfield, Jared Polec, David Swallow and Gary Ablett.

Disappointed with those that went under their expectations:
Dustin Martin, Jackson Merrett, Luke Dunstan, Tom Liberatore, Sam Mitchell, Matt Suckling and Ben McEvoy.

Will be looking at downgrading Xavier Ellis to Nick Robertson/Sam Gray and upgrading Lewis Taylor to Nick Riewoldt.

So, in the end I ended up with the following trades:

Xavier Ellis > Nick Robertson
Luke Dunstan > Sam Lloyd (via Lewis Taylor)

Scored 2015 with Gary Ablett as captain this week.

My god it was a shocking week.

Chonks

Patrick Ambrose > Dayne Zorko
Jarman Impey > Luke Parker

Leaves me with $21,000 and 18 trades.

Nice trades. Should bump up your scores.
Good luck mate

2125 with Gary Ablett as captain.

After another blistering start, once again my weekend comes undone.

Big shout outs to Tom Langdon (128), Matt Suckling (108), Gary Ablett (282), Jared Polec (141), Tom Liberatore (139) and Aaron Sandilands (121).

Thank you to Scott Pendlebury (102), Patrick Dangerfield (120), Matt Crouch (75), Luke Parker (102), Sam Lloyd (74), Dayne Beams (125) and Nathan Fyfe (112).

Ben McEvoy (83), Dayne Zorko (59), David Swallow (80), Dustin Martin (95) and Trent Cotchin (95) must lift.

The following are on the chopping blocks this week due to poor form or injury. Jackson Merrett (25), Matthew Jaensch (38), Luke McDonald (12) and Sam Mitchell (9).

Completely lost on what to do during these bye rounds, this round in particular.

I'm only looking for a league win, currently sitting with 4 wins. I have relatively easy opponents during Round 8 and Round 9, which, hopefully, I should comfortably win.

Any thoughts, advice or criticism is appreciated!

I've got Merrett as well and he is my main priority cause he is gonna bleed more cash. McDonald, Mitchell and Jaensch can all wait as they have the bye/not playing. If I were you I'd probably sideways Mitchell to a premium, downgrade Fasolo to a mid rook via Taylor and upgrade Merrett to a premium. Fasolo's BE is now 36 so I don't think he will make much more cash, projecting to score 73 and rise 16k in round 9. He is not likely to come back from injury and ton up first up and isn't a keeper so might as well cut him loose.

Was thinking something similar along those lines as well!
What do you think of:
Mitchell > McVeigh
Fasolo > Acres (via Taylor)
Merrett > Dahlhaus

Yeah those trades look good but personal preference I would take someone else instead of Dahlhaus.
