Pretty happy with the 4-1 record given my outs. Need to get my players back to start pumping out 150+ scores again.

Playing guys like frost and Delaney aren't helping.

Congratulations PNL close game. Need to get the team right dropping Reilly not a good move.

Good news is that we've already played the three best teams in the comp :)

roo boys!

Finally...a win. Not in the most convincing fashion though.

Relying on Pendles more than ever with both my vice captains missing through injury too! Swallow should be very close, and Ziebell you'd assume this week? Was quite close to playing I believe a couple weeks ago, North not taking any risks which is understandable.

Factor in McLean's ordinary form and you're looking at Pendles being the only player out of my original starting midfield available for selection for the moment.

Good to see the reserves keep on winning!

Well Memph thought that the preference list would make a team that's very similar to the one I actually tried to name.

Memph is well and truly allowed to make decisions for the team, but I'm sure that if we knew we had to start Plowman and a very underdone O'Shea via the preference system we would've opted to just drop Cotchin (although we probably would've replaced him with Crouch instead of Pittard - but that's a minor detail). I'd much rather go with the team I tried to name without Cotchin.

I've gotta say, reading Memph's post again that he didn't actually name the team, it was more of a question.

I'm a little unsure how to go about it MC, because these are decisions made well and truly after lockout.

I think I'm going to have to go with the team based on preference list. If you guys feel I've made a mistake from your preference list (and it was really only the defense) happy to review...

Anyone else have an opinion?

Look Oss, all I'll say is that over the first few weeks of the season, both Plowman and O'Shea haven't made the starting 15, or even been an emergency IIRC. I feel like it's a bit harsh to name them based on a preference list I made a long time ago. Since then, I think it's pretty obvious that Gwilt and Haynes have been elevated up the pecking order. Even Everitt too.

I dunno, I don't really want to get into a heated argument about it because I am in the wrong; I didn't name a team before lockout, and then I was away all weekend so I couldn't communicate to sort it out. I had pencilled in a loss anyway.

Sidenote though, I think if I had've named a team on time with Cotch in and as captain, I would've scored 1499. Would've been a massive victory. Ah well.

I agree, it would have been a huge victory. It could quite possible change the competition and how the year goes down. And honestly, I find that incredibly frustrating.

I also 100% agree that your preference list isn't an accurate reflection. I disagree that it was harsh. It was made at the start of December, and you had the opportunity to change it at the end of February. I also don't feel that if I gave people the opportunity to adjust their preference lists whenever they want, that you would have done that.

.... but if I let one team make decisions post lock out one week for one round, I'd need to do it every week for every team for every round. I realise you know this, but feel its worth stating.

Brewer Hangover as the Suns shine

Berlin had a solid performance, but you need more than that against the Mexico City Suns.

Mexico City had 8 centuries, and that's just hard to beat. Berlin are now on a 3 match losing streak, with the Armadillos next week.

Berlin Brewers (21.15.141) lost to Mexico City Suns (25.15.165)

Best
Berlin: R Petterd, M Hibberd, N Fyfe, D Jackson
Mexico City: S Sidebottom, S Thompson, M Pavlich, A Sandilands, N Riewoldt, B Ebert, J Adcock, J Bartel

Late Changes
Berlin: R Petterd replaces C Garland
Mexico City: T Curren replaces S Hurn

WXV Debut
Mexico City: T Curren

Reserves
Rhineland Rum-Runners (5.8.38) lost to Mexico City Suns (15.7.97)

Best
Rhineland: J Saunders
Mexico City: M Firrito, J Waite, T Cutler

^ correction, Mexico City scored 165, not 159. Forgot a Co-Captain, and Purple 77 (in a good show of sportsmanship) pointed it out.

Boomz and i discussed it thought he could have a quiet first game back start as sub or get subbed that's why we did it

if Tippett, Ibbo and Motlop are back this week we might rest them also for same reasons

Very tight game indeed, Jones really saved me and Rioli/Enright doing enough to account for the difference (not to mention Mackie being subbed out). I look forward to our next match, hopefully in finals! ;).

Seoul's up and down season continues, as pundits start to drift away from a Cairo side now way back in the pack and are struggling in Shane Mumford's absense.
