Cox...  ;D
Goldy not a bad call but  I'd probably wait to see him turn it around first... Yep he's had 2 years of 113 but a 90 odd in between...

With the way NicNat is tracking it's surely a matter of time before he's given a spell to get himself up to standard, or even taking Lycett/Sinclair out should see Cox monstering again. He's still one of the best performing weagles, 2nd highest score on the weekend... Has only averaged under 105 in 1 of the last 6 years...

His cumulative record over the last 9 years is 181 games at an average of 106...

The one thing Cox has going for him is a round 9 bye, at the moment I have 16 players available for round 8 and it is starting to become a real worry.

I will have 16 if I bring in Goldy or Jacobs, Cox makes 17. It might just be enough to tip the scales in favour of Cox, but it also means I will be without a ruck in round 9.

I did the same. Hindsight is 20/20 though. Article on the AFL website said "It's a very, very minor operation, so he's probably going to miss one or two weeks." so most likely as the surgery was only to flush out his knee. However i find "We thought it was just general soreness. Unfortunately, with 'Mummy' he had a very sore knee and he had a very sore shoulder," Cameron said" a bit concerning.

Whaaaaat? I might be being thick but that doesn't make sense to me... You have 16 players available round 8 if you bring in sauce or Goldy for Mummy... Which means you have 17 now, or 13 players out in round 8. So don't bring in another. Cox is round 9, as is Mummy. Mummy to Cox maintains your current bye structure, though it already looks dicey!
It doesn't matter if you're without a ruck in round 9, you just need 18. Where they are on the park is irrelevant...

yeah, I agree, Cox for Mummy. There's still plenty of time to get a full squad by round 8, Crouch will have 3 price rises by then so maybe he makes way for Griffen, Lloyd to Buddy is another I'll be considering.

am i crazy for thinking this??

Hold the trade on Mummy, get bench cover and ride it out even if there is a donut.
me team is doing ok, almost 2200 with a donut on the field.

Depends who you have as bench cover, I've tried various permutations to upgrade Currie but the cupboard is bare. No way will I risk Derickx for 2 weeks. Potentially it's 200 points lost, to make that up Mummy would have to average about 120 over the course of the season, and that's just to break even. He's also likely to break down again.

i think i missed the part where mummy's general soreness has turned into 2-3weeks. what's the story?

They thought it was soreness and he was complaining of a very sore knee and shoulder but he's knee blew up so he had surgery to flush it out because they didn't want it to get infected. The 2-3 weeks probably comes from the recovery and being safe.

fever

oh snap. thanks for the info.

Goldy for the reasons already stated. Averaging well without setting the world on fire. You know he is going to get 35+ hit outs every week and if he goes down Currie will be the likely cover.
Cox would be my second pick with some daylight to Minson and Jacobs.
I'm hoping for positive news during the week and am undecided about a trade atm. If Currie plays this week (Saturday game with GWS on Sunday) we'll get the chance to see if he starts and use him for cover. Maybe Mumford will be back the following week and trade saved... or if another week probably do the trade for Goldy then...has already lost some serious coin (78k) and has a BE of 127 this week so... :-*...at the price really don't see how you can go past him.

Judd Magic

Is it worth going Mummy > Minson to keep my by structure intact and then Sandi > Goldy in round 10 bye thus having the best two performing rucks of last year?

James_Pies

I'm just going to keep Mumford. Only traded him in a few weeks ago and im not ready to get rid of him.
