This guy could prove to be a great defensive pickup.  Averaging 94 before this week and has started extremely well today.  Has great talent including a great kick which should make him SC friendly.  I think when Adelaide get some more players back he could play even more time up the ground (where he was  said to play pre-season).  I reckon a 95-100 season average is not out of the question.

I know some of you will say 'you might as well get Jaensch.'  Smith is a better player with higher talent and is no way likely to be dropped unless its due to inury.  I cant say the same for Jaensch.

Brodie Smith and Matty Jaensch look like the new Simon Goodwin and Andrew McLeod across that half back line!

But my Supercoach reminiscing aside..

Both look like they could be great options this year. I have Jaensch in my backline, and personally if he can crack a ton today he will be looking at obtaining keeper status (will be the second or third highest scoring defender too).

I'm also penciling in Brodie Smith for a 95 average. Think his ceiling is higher than Jaensch's, but may have a few games of 60-70.

Only early days I know, but will be exciting to see how these guys play over the next month or so with Adelaide's easy draw.

Both look great value although if they dominate more they will get recognised and locked down

Yea I must admit I can see them getting a forward tag.  Problem it is likely to be one or the other I cant see teams tagging two HBFers as well Danger in the midfield

ClarksonsArmy

takes 3 to 4 weeks for opposition coaches to start tagging the supply...

Look at Birchall, Hurn, etc from last year tagged after a super 3 to 4 weeks
