I'm over Caddys scores with only 1 100+ score in his career I don't see much changing..
at his price and with not much in the bank $32k is Jackson Merret my only option?
Is there any rookies that could average similar to Caddy for $100k less?

Does anyone know how far off Bock is??

Elcapitano

Sorry the rookies I currently have are:
Taylor (Mids)
Higgins
JKH
Impey

spudaroos

Not many options, Fasolo nets you cash but Merett could be a ripper unique (pretty risky, but atleast makes cash in the short term).

Ringo

Bock played 1/2 a game in reserves on Saturday so is on his way back.

So general consensus is hold Caddy for hope of a downgrade when Bock return??

With the byes in mind I'll be bringing in a round 9 or 10 bye player, Parker's the pick of the bunch for now but I haven't discounted Buddy, one more strong showing and it might be time to reassess.

Hold Caddy, he's still going to make you cash (although perhaps not a lot) which is why you picked him. He's not dropping in price just yet and soon enough Petrie (for example) will be extremely cheap and could upgrade to him then, or downgrade to Fasolo next week when he is on the bubble if need be.

I have both Petrie & Cloke on the radar, the only problem being their round 8 bye.

Isn't that good? Get them in round 9 after their bye by trading a round 9 or 10 rookie and/or midpricer

I am in the same boat. Thinking of offloading Caddy but may hold.
Reckon he may go alright this week against an undermanned West Coast midfield.
Even still he won't lose much. Unless you plan on upgrading to a proven premo then I wouldn't bother.

Round 9 is too far away to predict, they'll probably both be firing by that stage, in which case they'll be awkwardly priced. I think my priority between now & the byes is to get in a keeper forward, it's still an open field at this stage but I reckon there will be some frontrunners emerging in the next fortnight.

If Petrie goes below 400k in 2 weeks, I highly doubt he'll go above 500k by round 7. I'd still be more than happy to bring him in when he bottoms out though, even if he has his bye 2-3 weeks later. Paying <400k for a guy who can average over 100? Yes please.

I'd be inclined on keeping Caddy, this game is all about patience, he will repay the faith, like I have stated in an earlier Caddy thread, in round 1, he would have scored much better had he not copped a kick to the head by Selwood, missed a fair chunk of that match and still returned 80 odd points. That is acceptable for a player at that value. With Selwood and Johnson copping attention by opposition taggers, wont take Caddy long to do what he was brought into this team to do, that is replace Joel Corey. Patience my dear friends, he will get there.

It's tempting but at the moment I have 17 fit players in line for round 8, I have 4 weeks to turn the ledger back in my favour. If it's a straight swap for Caddy then no harm done I guess, I'll just need to make adjustments elsewhere. But certainly Petrie could be the fuel injection one needs in the forward line, his track record cannot be ignored.
