Geez, as things werent tough enough already. Looks like we will be without 6 of best 22 this week plus cox. Don't have any depth to cover 2 injuries let alone 7 outs. Least we get to blood some youngins now !

Get Tunbridge on the ball! He's the perfect size to run our midfield, WE NEED BIGGER BODIES IN THERE!

I doubt we will fly Coxy over for this week and apparently Shuey and Darling were very sore at training and might not get up. Also it looks like Ash Smith and Sam Butler see carrying knocks, not that Smith heeds to worry about injury wrecking his selection chances. Last weeks performance took care of that ::)

WEST Coast defender Xavier Ellis could miss multiple weeks with a shoulder injury following a heavy fall in a marking contest in the first-quarter of Sunday's win over Collingwood.

Ellis was running back with the flight of the ball when he attempted to spoil a marking contest deep in the Magpies' forward line.

His right shoulder hit the ground and he had to be helped from the field, grimacing in pain.

The former Hawk was subbed out shortly after and it is likely he could miss a few weeks.

I think it is an AC joint so it is a couple of weeks minimum,Eagles coach Adam Simpson said.

West Coast also lost experienced forward Mark LeCras pre-match due to a tight calf.

He was replaced in the side by Dom Sheed, who came on as the sub at quarter-time to replace Ellis.

Simpson said LeCras injury could see him miss the vital clash with Essendon next Saturday.

(His calf) was a bit tight on Thursday, Simpson said.

He wasn't available today and he might not be available next week. (It'll be) touch and go.

The Eagles have already lost Matt Rosa, Brad Sheppard, Beau Waters and Sharrod Wellingham for the season.

Elliot Yeo has not played since round 13 due to a broken hand and appears unlikely to return this season.

Scott Selwood has not played since he had ankle surgery following the Eagles round 12 loss to Hawthorn. However, although it was initially feared that his season was over he is making a case for a return within a fortnight.

Selwood is pushing hard, really hard to play, Simpson said.

He is running really well but he won't be playing next week.

Ellis got crunched right in front of me. Looked like an enormous hit and he was down for ages.

Sucks because he's really important to our transition play (although we really stepped it up in the second half without him which was a bonus!).

Yeah I was like nooo not Ellis he has been so damn good for us this year.
And he would be so disappointed himself after having such a good year pretty much injury free

Skilful swingman Xavier Ellis could still play a further part in the West Coast Eagles if his teammates can keep the dream alive and play finals.

Facing a virtual elimination final over the last three rounds, Ellis could be ready to play if the Eagles can progress beyond the regular season.

The classy utility player damaged his right AC joint after a heavy fall in the first quarter of Sundays 10 goal victory against Collingwood and after scans and medical assessments today, he has been ruled out for the next 3 to 4 weeks.

As of Monday, August 11

Tom Barrass (groin) season
Rowen Powell (shoulder) season
Matt Rosa (pectoral) season
Beau Waters (shoulder) season
Sharrod Wellingham (knee) season
Brad Sheppard (ankle) season
Malcolm Karpany (ankle) season
Xavier Ellis (AC joint) 3-4 weeks
Scott Selwood (ankle) 2-3 weeks
Elliot Yeo (hand) 2-3 weeks
Mark LeCras (calf) Test
