Mitch avoids major injury :D
Still out for a few weeks tho

Versatile West Coast defender Mitch Brown has evaded a season-ending knee injury, with scans showing no damage to his right anterior cruciate ligament.

Brown has suffered bone damage to the knee as a result of a third quarter incident in the Carlton Draught Derby against Fremantle on Saturday and will be sidelined for the next four to six weeks.

It is still a significant injury, but that is much better than initially feared.

Also in that incident, when his leg was tucked under his body in an awkward manner, Brown hurt his right ankle and that injury will need a similar period of recuperation.

Brown again displayed his capacity to combat players of varying shapes and sizes as he opposed Fremantle livewire Hayden Ballantyne and did a good job of keeping the dangerous Docker under wraps.

The injury to Brown was the only medical concern coming out of the match as the team begins preparations for another top four contender, Sydney, at Patersons Stadium this Sunday.

Maybe, but the last few weeks have been very promising. If we didn't choke in those 3-4 games midseason we'd be on track.

Which games you talking bout Ele? If Sydney kicked straight and wouldaa be towled by 10 goals lol.

We played okay against Collingwood and the Derby wasnt too bad either. But other than that.... last 2 months have been average.

Round 8 - demolished GWS, quality win.
Round 9 - BYE
Round 10 - Our best performance of the season for 3 and a half quarters easily. We had em on the ropes, should have won that one.
Round 11 - Lets move on.
Round 12 - To be expected with out outs that week.
Round 13 - Great win against a strong Suns outfit. Many were tipping GC but we crushed them for 3 quarters and just held on.
Round 14 - Did the job. Good win away from home.
Round 15 - Pushed a genuine premiership contender all the way, good form.
Round 16 - Sure, Sydney COULD have towelled us by 10 goals, but they didn't. Inaccuracy comes from the pressure we apply as well as errant kicking. We were forcing them to take shots from outside 50 or on the boundary, solid defensive effort. Lets not forget that Syndey had won 10 straight or something and are renowned for being an amazing wet-weather footy side. We stayed right with them before being blown away a bit in the fourth.

There really are positives this season if you look for them. Probably only rounds 4 and 11 can go down as shockers. If we held on against Carlton, Port, Collingwood we'd be sitting at 8-7.

This was always gonna be a transition year under a new coach are largely new management with most of the coaching dept being turned over.

We're not poo, there are positives to take out of the season if we stop focusing on the negatives that get pumped up by the media!

The_Captain

Ele.. you are one positive man!!! You have turned our season into a ripper somehow lol! We are all over the place at the monent.. And to lose to sides like carlton is just not on.. Id say its been a disappointing year.. That's just how i feel anyways :p

elephants

Haha no worries, you've gotta focus on the positives imo :P Focusing on the negatives doesn't help anyone!

Ideally you'd need a combo of both but hey!

Losing patience with the selection panel though, McGinnity over Sheed/Colledge/Tunbridge, Schofield over Wilson and anyone over Bennell. Pls.

yeahh thats true mate!!

Yeah same here!!! Tunbridge should of been given a game on the weekend in those conditions.. I want them to given either carter or wilson a go. I rate both!! No offence to Butler but his days are over.. time to blood these rooks.

Yeah 100%! I think Carter was always unlikely since he played for EP in the foxtel cup mid week. Hopefully this week though. I'm a huge a Tunners fan, Sheed will be a jet, Colledge is coming along nicely.. Just need games Simmo!!

Is he? Thought he lead the midfield well for EP on the weekend?
