Quite simple, Caddy seems not to be a fantasy player. Even when he had a couple good games, he didnt score great!
J. Merrett had a breakout game and want to jump on it before the price rise next week.

if u have enough money to trade a rookie to merret thats what i done

I've got Caddy and Higgins at F5/6. Pretty tempted to trade Caddy though.

I was at the game against Carlton and watched him with interest. Carlton left him alone the entire game to pretty much do as he pleased. It was ridiculous. Not sure he'll be left to damage opponents like that again.

He had a breakout game no doubt but he is not going to become a keeper so trading him in for Caddy IMO is a waste of a trade.

Not so sure he'll get too much attention tbh... the likes of Heppell and Hibberd that play behind the footy, and Chappy across half forward - Merrett has only had a couple of great games and would no doubt be down the list to get attention,  no matter where he plays.

However, I'm not sure I can pick someone who plays a very uncontested game in my team... No doubt the players look to put it in his hands, but foath, Carlton were shocking!! Dont see teams get that much time and space very often... Even though he uses it well, his touches just dont convert into SC points well enough for me and I don't see him getting 30 touches every week, probably good for 70-95's tbh.

That's the only thing holding me back. For sure now Caddy will score -40 and Merrett about 200 since I'm not trading :)

The problem with Caddy is that he just doesn't seem to have any specific role in the team, last week he just wandered aimlessly around in circles - or so it seemed.  It's like he's been told to stand back and protect the ballgetters.  It was a shocking display and whether it's his fault or the coach's fault, who knows.  He's held his value this week, but if he continues to play the same role his price will plummet.  At least by trading him now you get your money back and live to fight another day.  The problem is who to trade him to, Merrett stands out after 3 rounds but he really hasn't proven himself when the heat is on.  How he goes against Fremantle should be a better guide than his taking advantage of Carlton's non-existent defense.  I think I could be forced to move on Caddy and Rohan because next week both will start plummeting financially.

This. Hang onto Caddy for now mate. Merrett will face a very tough game this week against Freo so it will be interesting to see how he backs it up. Caddy will be up against a very undermanned WCE midfield with Masten, Selwood and NicNat all possible outs this week.

Im thinking of doing it TBH...
Worse case - he makes another 100K that I can upgrade later on...
Best case - he keeps avergaing 90+ and I can keep him for as long as I want

I understand what you're saying Ric, but I'm sure people aren't trading in Merrett just for one game, even if he doesn't score well against Freo, you'd keep him until at least the byes, as he'll make some cash.

Don't see why heaps of people are saying Caddy's price will start dropping. His averaging 68 and began the year priced at 60 so technically he should still be rising. Yeah he hasn't had a great start to the year but I can still see him averaging somewhere between 70-80. If you started with him then I'd say stick with him, I think people expected a bit much from him, he was never going to come out and score tons from round 1, his doing his job for me so il stick with him and see how he goes the next few weeks, if he scores 50s and 60s then yes id consider a trade but its too early to get rid of him after just 3 rounds if you started him I think, he should come good.

Yeah, I agree. Could possibly be the Brandon Ellis of 2013.
