The casualty list from Saturday's 25-point victory over St Kilda will ensure at least a couple of changes for this week's challenge against Geelong at Simmonds Stadium.

Sharp-shooter Mark LeCras has today had surgery on a fractured arm and it was confirmed he would miss a month of football, while a hamstring strain will see indefatigable midfielder Chris Masten sit out for two to three weeks.

Masten, who received a cork to the hamstring, was also an early casualty on Saturday night and battled through to finish the game which what has been assessed as a mild hamstring strain.

LeCras fractured the same arm that ruined his 2013 campaign after fracturing it in the opening game against Fremantle.

He rushed back to play, but is likely to make a more conservative approach to his return this time around.

The absence of LeCras and Masten will open up opportunities for players in good WAFL form, including young gun Dom Sheed, forward Josh Hill and defender Sam Butler.

really?
are Cox/NicNat/JJK/Sinclair not a good enough forward tall line?
especially with the likes of Cripps also in there

as for Masten, won't Hutch directly replace him? seems a logical move after his NAB efforts

Masten  :(
Guess I should trade (RealDT) hasn't been a spectacular pick anyway
