Scans this afternoon have confirmed that Brisbane Lions midfielder Daniel Rich has ruptured his ACL.

Toga

Bugger, poor guy. :( All the best in his recovery.

What does this mean for the rest of the team though? Do Hanley/Zorko/Rockliff attract a tag now? Do Aish/Mayes get more of a run on the wing?

Jroo

Shocking news.
Who do the Lions bring in for him?

Ricochet

Would love to see Robertson get a go

Sheesh unlucky.

Aish/Mayes should get more time on the wing, but Adcock and Hanley should both get more mid time. Rocky may find his way to get tagged now, but Hanley should get a bulk of the tag.

Redden avoids the tag completely then?
If so one to watch fantasy wise, even more so than before.

Redden won't get tagged, not that sort of player.

Think Redden's more of an inside player so think he's down the pecking order compared to guys like Hanley who are more reliant on outside ball.

Ringo

Have discussed in the Brisbane discussion thread who we may bring in for Rich.

This will create a rookie elevation and suspect it may even bay Zac O'Brien who we picked up as a mture aged midfielder and is showing silky skills.

Suspect if this is the case then the replacement will either be Nick Robertson, Zac O'Brien and maybe Bewick with Zorko having more mid time but with Green out fo a couple may change.

Yeah, was thinking ZOB might get a go, should be elevated.

kilbluff1985

wonder how it will impact on Zorko

Correct me if I'm wrong Ringo but I think Ringo said that in his view, with Green out at the moment Zorko's forward pressure and dangerousness around goals will be needed in the forward line. But he might get a bit more of a run in the middle at times as well, especially if Green is back soon?

Toga

I'll be waiting a couple more on Zorko before I jump on/draw a line through him though I think, don't want to gamble on him :-X

GoLions

Really sucks for Richy, such a good player and amazing user of the ball, will definitely be missed throughout the rest of the season. Hopefully he has a good recovery :)

Would like to see Robertson come into the side

Same, especially with Gunston as F5 in SC

Ringo

One think that is certain Taylors JS will be assured for a few weeks as well.
