Heh, bit of an ol drama.

Still, doin the annual Maroochydore trip in January. I like to think there was a good 'real' reason why the players didn't do the boot camp.

Any pre-season news/impressions fellow Demon supporters?

I haven't been following TOO closely, but it almost looks certain Fritsch will line up Round 1. All the right things have been said about him over the summer.

There has also been massive wraps on Billy Stretch. He sits well in the coaches good books, so he could surprise this year.

Other than that, I think our best 22 can be estimated fairly accurately.

Would love to start all 3 of Garlett, Hannan and Fritsch but I just don't think there's room for 3 specialist small forwards. Goodwin seems to like Fritsch though so not sure how things will play out. Maybe there's room with Viney out

Pretty confident on making the top 8 this season, a lot of players have improved over the off season and having Gawn/Hogan/Viney injury free will be a huge help

Looking forward to round 1

Didn't have the greatest JLT. Might have to fight his way into the team through the VFL. Seems Dom Tyson is in a similar boat. Don't mind seeing clubs reward other players for strong pre-seasons.

He had his wisdom teeth taken out in sudden circumstances in the lead-up to Round 1, which may have affected his fitness.

But, he's never really been a walk-up start to our 22. All supporters want him in the team, but that's because we want him to prove himself, as he hasn't really yet. Has probably had 2 or 3 20+ disposal games in his career after all.

Gun, but still finding his way.

Purps, reckon Frost comes in to free up Lever? I think Lever needs to be able to intercept if he's going to be worth the money the Dees are paying him right?

You'd like to think so, except Frost isn't amazing at being 1v1 either :-X he's OK I guess.

OMac smacked Hawkins last week, so he'll be the one to take the key forward 1v1. It was a failing of the rest of the defenders to free up Lever. I think Lever had what, 18 SC points in the first half? We conceded 12 goals 8 in that time. When we tightened up and restricted Geelong to 17 points in the second half, Lever had 50 SC and was able to have somewhat of an impact.

So I'm not breaking the Sam Frost fire alarm yet :P
