Jackson Merrett vs David Ellard

So should start by stating this is for my SC Draft team, not sure if this is the place to post, but couldn't see any obvious alternatives!  So my team is carrying alot of injuries, and I find myself staring at a donut, which in a 15 man team could seriously hurt.  Obviously there aren't many standout players on the free agency list left, so I was wondering people's opinion on these 2.  This will probably be a short term move, so not worried about season points.  Any opinions happily accepted as I cant split them!

I'd personally go for Merrett, has been playing the majority of his game time on a wing with melksham out and has done a great job doing so
