Derickx or currie as ruck 2?

I'm considering trading Ryder & Michie to Currie & Jelwood.
Got max king who I will use as I am loopholing derickx. If derickx fails & currie is named I just field him instead.
In my midfield I will be strong, gaj, pendles, watto, beams, Libba, Tyson, polec as well as Jelwood with Ellis & Dunstan on the pine.
Am I crazy considering this? Got sandi as R1.
I am seriously thinking Jelwood is a must have & am considering on rolling with rookie rucks until they are not playing.
Thoughts?

how can you have any faith in Currie or Derrickx getting games every week ?

and both big chances to get the red vest each week

Crazy stuff by FonFatty.  :o

Jelwood after his bye.

Why not just sit Ryder out as he looks likely to play next week.

If you are convinced you've made a mistake by getting Ryder in the first place, then grab Mummy this week?

Yes.
Currie and Derrickx have very shaky JS so I would definitely not be counting on them as starters. In any case you say you'd roll with it until they aren't playing, if that's next week then where are you finding the cash to bring in a more reliable ruck? If you want to trade out Ryder you have to pick someone with a good chance of starting every week.

I have no faith in Mummy, my theory with this strategy is basically I get to look at who is the best ruck available after 4 or 5 rounds.
I am not expecting these 2 guys to be there week in week out, at the moment they are there and like I stated about jelwood, he could be the new GAJ, his price could rise in excess of $700k if he keeps pumping out 140 - 150. Waiting after the byes you might need to use 3 trades to get him and there will be no guarantees there will be any cash cows around then to downgrade to.
Mark my words, this is only going to be temporary, my first upgrade is going to be in the ruck division, but if I can get at least 2 weeks out of these guys it could turn out to be a wise move.
Like for instance, the premo rucks (Goldy, leuey etc.) are not scoring much more than a rookie would score. All I need is 2 weeks out of these guys, that is the risk I am taking.
Doing these trades will leave me $120k in the kitty as well.
I also am going for overall, getting Jelwood now could put me in good stead to get to my goal. Missing out on 1 of the highest scorers in the game could hurt my chances.
So for this week I currently have Derickx on the pine as an emergency and if he scores anything over 60 I will take it, if he flops and Currie isn't named I will reassess my situation. I get to have a look at Syd first before I can make these moves anyway.

If I have to rectify this situation next week I will be left with cash after these moves. Have $220k currently in kitty.
If either of them get dropped I will basically offload Max King and use either derickx or Currie as my loophole player.
Got Higgins in my fwd line that I would be happy to boot as well, get at least 1 price rise out of him. His B/E could be close to his average next week anyway.
I just have no confidence in any rucks a the moment, I do want Nic Nat as R2 eventually as well. So could turn out well if Derickx or Currie get at least another 2 weeks worth of games.

You have 220k now but trading Ryder and Michie to Currie and Jelwood would leave you with 116k. So to then upgrade king you downgrade Higgins, could afford someone like Grundy maybe if you DG Higgins to a rookie. So overall 4 trades and the best part of 220k to go Ryder, Michie, Higgins and King to Jelwood, Grundy, Currie and rook. Not even for a second is that worth it. You'd be better off going Ryder to Grundy now and waiting til bye time to get Jelwood. Higgins is fine, his BE is 5, he'll get a few weeks of price rises.

To be honest I was evaluating the same thing now. Hmmm decisions. Thinking do I bite the bullet with Nic Nat now! Might give Derickx a go tomorrow, if he scores well I just keep Ryder on the pine.
My other option is Michie / Rohan to Zorko / Ambrose. Improve the fwd line. I can only do this if Derickx scores well. But with Rohan being in the same game cant be done. Another risk I have to take lol. Also not very convinced with Zorko.

Ricochet

1) Derickx and Currie have very shaky JS and I wouldn't be relying on them to play every week, especially when you need them in 5-6 weeks time through the byes.
2) Currie isn't on the bubble yet so you may as well wait another week to see if he performs well enough to stay in the side
3) Your midfield is where you generate the most cash. You should be looking to go Michie to another midfield rookie rather than spending the cash already to get a premo
4) If your worried about the premo rucks then grab someone like Hickey would will make you cash while pumping out decent numbers

GCSkiwi

I think Derrickx is probably a red vest candidate tbh...
I really think just chill out, Ryder might be back next week, cop a potentially low score from Derrickx this week and then re-evaluate next week when you know more about Ryder. Though Michie/Rohan to Zorko and Ambrose does sound pretty good with Michie not playing...

FonFatty

I ended up doing michie > m Thomas.
Loopholed derickx with max king on the ground, am still undecided if I should go Ryder > mummy.
Would u guys take the 51 & save the trade? Unsure on how this ankle will effect Ryder in coming weeks. Could seriously spud it up & mummy could be the ruck must have. Thoughts?

Capper

Derrick wont get games once Tippett comes back. I would have no faith in either of those 2 as R2

Trade Paddy

There is no point taking the 51 now, and then trading out Paddy later because you are concerned over his health

So, you either back Ryder in all year, or trade him now to Mummy

Ryder to Mummy looks delicious

Going to go with it. You've convinced me enough.

RaisyDaisy

My mate did the same trade. Hope it works out for both of you  :)
