So with Johnson being given a week I now only have 15 players playing before trades - WHAT DO I DO?? cop it on the chin or trade out of trouble?

B: Swallow, Simpson, Hodge, Langford, Langdon, Enright - McVeigh, Georgiou - 6
M: Ablett, Pendles, Beams - Johnson, JPK, Watson, Acres, Taylor, Robertson, Tyson - 3
R: Jacobs - Currie, Derickx, Sandilands - 1
F: Dangerfield, Martin, Impey, Lloyd, Dahlhaus - Roughead, Ambrose, Parker - 5

I wanted Selwood in this week and am looking at offloading Taylor and Robertson to get there, not sure with the other pick now that I need to almost make the 3 trades to get 18 playing

Ambrose > Cameron?

Or do I just need to take it on the chin and make do with 17 players playing?

felsty

Stevie J > Jelwood
Taylor > Wingard
Robertson > Cameron

Crazy? maybe I need to be crazy to win this shower

felsty

Sounds ridiculous but I think I'm going to go down this avenue..

Stevie J > Selwood
Taylor > Wingard
Robertson > Cameron

Leaving me with this side for the last bye round

B: Swallow, Hodge, Simpson, Enright, Langford, Langdon
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams, Selwood, Martin, Dangerfield
R: Jacobs
F: Wingard, Dahlhaus, Impey, Cameron, Lloyd

Gives me 18, and I know people will smash me for the Stevie J trade out but hear me out..

  • I'm ranked 585 after being over 10,000 pre byes
  • Many of the top 50 are in the same boat as me and have 15 players to choose from pre trades, so getting 18 is a must

Getting rid of Taylor in particular hurts because he is showing good form and has a nice run coming up but I have to make the fix as quickly as possible

It'll leave me with 12 trades for the rest of the year, but planning it out over the 3 rounds after the byes I can do this..

Langford > Bews
Ambrose > Shenton

Lloyd > Stevie J
Derickx > King

Tyson > $640k premo mid (lets just say Fyfe)

that will leave me with seven trades and a team that looks like this..

B: Swallow, Hodge, McVeigh, Simpson, Enright, Langdon (Bews, Georgiou)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams, Selwood, Stevie J, Watson, JPK, Fyfe (Shenton, Acres)
R: Sandilands, Jacobs (Currie, King)
F: Dangerfield, Martin, Parker, Wingard, Dahlhaus, Roughead (Cameron, Impey)

My only real concerns from that are my backline and possibly my rucks
I'll look to get in Hanley, or someone of the sort, into my mids at the expense of Acres to make a swingset, or perhaps even Acres > Morabito, Bews/Georgiou > Hanley depending on what happens..

Like I said, it seems like a waste to trade out Stevie J to trade him back in after two rounds time, but his draw gets mighty juicy then and he will need to be jumped on, but likewise I can't have him costing me a player over the byes

THE BIGGER PICTURE MUST BE LOOKED AT

Do people see the bolded team with the amount of trades left a success?

geoffmack

In short YES i do see the bolded team a success.

Question I have: Whats your plan with Langdon?

Then I assume you save the 7 trades for injuries/sub issues/general soreness??

And whats your kitty??

Jackross10

Loving the look of that Feltsy. Really good. Stevie J to Selwood is okay if you like it. I wouldn't change to much of your plans except JPK > Fyfe. Just my man crush kicking in haha. Langdon will be a straight swap for probably Jaensch in a few weeks so you can do that. But the scores he is producing there is no need to trade. Well done mate. Keep it up :)

felsty

Langdon will stay in for the whole year possibly.. I'll be looking to get Hanley in my mids to make a swing set

felsty

do people think Wingard or Jaensch is the better buy in?

I have chosen Wingard atm because of his low BE and good run coming up but Jaensch intrigues me, but has a high BE

felsty

With Lloyd out now no matter what I would have 17 at most playing so I'm going to do this

Lloyd > Cameron, Robertson > Bews, Tyson > Selwood

I really wanted to keep Tyson but can't justify it now and need Selwood in

Also allows me to so this next week..

Langford > Shenton, Taylor > Wingard

Leaving me with

B: Swallow, Hodge, Enright, Simpson, McVeigh, Langdon (Bews, Georgiou)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, Watson, JPK, Stevie J, Selwood, Wingard (Shenton, Acres)
R: Jacobs, Sandilands (Derickx, Currie)
F: Dangerfield, Martin, Dahlhaus, Roughead, Parker, Cameron (Impey, Ambrose)

felsty

these are trade plans over the next 3 weeks

fixed the original post for clarification! lol

Also starting to think that Goddard might be a better option than Griffin, averaging 117 without injury affected game

Barlow an option as well

If i get Goddard and Jaensch over the next two week it will give me about $545k to spend on a fwd at the expense of Ambrose

Ringo

Everyone seems to be jumping on the Goddard bandwagon at the moment for this reason.  Plan is sound though.

felsty

suppose I have to weigh up whether the pros to getting Goddard two weeks earlier than Fyfe and say Robbie Gray over Wingard in the long run is better or worse

Both Port and Essendon have some seriously easy runs coming up

felsty

Goddard or Griffen what are peoples thoughts?
