Wait and see on injuries this week Felsty - Just trade if need to avoid a donut.  Rumours that Nat may not play this week so that trade may be beneficial for you as although Currie and derrickz offer cover it is not strong.

Bit of talk about Enright too.. Lucky I'm inside doing my thesis all weekend so I'll be keeping up to dye!

Hmmmm was looking at Ambrose to Crouch next week but the 3 weeks of price changes up to the bye compared to 5 for Buckley make me think that Buckley might be the better option to have.. What do people think?

Just think Buckley works better with my bye structure

Ambrose to Buckley would do as JS looks secure and as you say will make a little more cash.

Mmm interesting. I might see how Pendles goes tonight as my VC. If he gets up I might save the trade and use Ambrose as my loophole. Lot of good young players coming through and I don't know if Buckley will be okay or not.. Decisions decisions

Any other options apart from Buckley this week? I'm still unsure about his JS but 5 price rises up until his bye, if he can get a solid score or two in there he should hit $300k by then or am I dreaming?

So a few rules I need to give myself for next season or for the rest of this one in some cases...

• Don't pick a player that comes into the season underdone
• Only have 2 or 3 strong PODs that you have researched during the preseason
• Most players chosen in cookie cutter teams are there for a reason
• Don't always choose the consistent players that don't have as big ceiling
• Don't pick KPPs
• Try to stick to guns and rookies as much as possible
• Don't chase rookies for the sake of making money. Think critically about trades and wait for the right options
• Pre round 3 trades should be for premium fixes, particularly if you back yourself with your chosen rookies

Now lets see if I listen to myself!

POST ROUND 4 DISCUSSION

Score: 2192

B: Finally fired with no real issues. Mitchell, Simpson and Enright scored well with my rookies lifting as well (Laidler, Langford)
M: Also scored really well, including my PODs in Thomas and JPK. Would have expected more from Dunstan, Tyson but they are rookies. Getting in Buckley this week may have been a mistake.
R: Big issue here with NicNat, not really sure what I should do with him, it was a bad night for all Eagles. Sandis scores impacted by the inclusion of Clarke??
F: Solid again, only real issue is Tom Mitchell, but I'm more than happy for him to turn into a F/M bench keeper or wait until he starts churning out some big scores.

So main issue is NicNat but I don't have the funds to fix him and dont want to downgrade only to have to upgrade again so I may have to hold. Will probably hold on my rookies as well but looking at Buckley, Impey > Gray, Lloyd

So some real issues with Buckley, a breakeven of 20 and his two previous scores under 40 make me very nervous about keeping him.

Buckley > Crouch this week or Gray the week after

I'm also looking to go NicNat > Sauce but need a downgrade this week to find the funds

Just watch with Crouch Felsty as he has the round 8 bye - will probably have not made enough cash by then to trade out so you may have to hold him through byes.  OK if you have sufficient back up for Round 8 though.

That's 17 which I also plan to upgrade Matt Thomas to Griffen when he bottoms out, also meaning a downgrade will need to happen, probably out of the backline for Langdon/Langford/Georgiou

Also looking at trading NicNat to Sauce but with Currie and Derickx as my reserve I have the coverage to combat that

That looks good mate.

Griffen should hit basement soon enough but you would want to see some sign that he will kill it again.

NicNat has to go IMO. I think I saw somewhere that you are highly ranked and within a shot for overalll.

So trade hard man.

Will mean it goes back to 16 for R8. But then Langdon to someone and Griffen in, should mean 18.
