Do we just ignore this bloke and put it down to two ripper games. As we know Melbourne are playing a real dt friendly style and he is still relatively cheap. Could go Swan to him and potentially go back to Swan later. Just a thought. He also plays GWS this week. Could go big again

wouldn't be worth the risk if you've got a good ranking, but a decent yolo option for battlers

although melb do play gws this week and u'd think he'd score well, gws seem to be a "captain choice" graveyard

dunno how many times i've traded in ppl/made someone captain vs gws and got a filthy filthy score in return

gotta also consider that he's first in line for tags

Jones is the dees best player and the heart of there team.
But I just cant consider him my fantasy team

Wouldn't go near Jones, just cant picture my team with him.

At his price..potential keeper....c'mon...well worth considering surely?.. :)

From what everyone's saying on this thread he seems like a HUGE POD, no one wants the risk. Just reading this has made me consider him... :P

Just can't consider him  :(

One of the most hard working players in the AFL though and hopefully he can average +100 but his scores are too high that it turns me off (the scores are too high to look consistent in my opinion, looks like two good games, personally need to see what an average game for him is first).

Melbourne have not had to play a team who can put good pressure on players off the ball (or a team with a tagger who's trying to keep Jones quiet). As soon as they come up against a Collingwood, Hawks, Freo, Essendon etc. who can actually man up, they're going to turn the ball over consistently. They don't have the skills to chip it around the backline when a proper press is in place, and they will panic and bang it down the line. After this easy run they're currently having, I expect Frawley and N. Jones scores to start dropping.

Spite

He will be missing a game in June for the birthday of his child. Already said he won't be travelling with the team to Darwin. I forgot to look up exactly when it is but if it falls in the bye week, then that would almost rule him out of most teams

Looking at pre-season as well, he's done :
(102, 95), Rnd 1: 147, Rnd 2: 129  (Richmond, Geelong, StK, WC).

That's a pretty good form at his price. And while i agree they haven't had the top teams yet, they have a pretty good run until after the bye. Their run from here is:
GWS
Carlton
GC
Sydney
Adelaide
Bulldogs
Richmond
Bye (round 10)

I've already got him in, but my plan is to trade him in round 9/10 to manage my byes.

That is tempting.
My Barlow replacement just got harder to choose

I would back him in to be a top 4 mid at the bye rounds...

All I can say is that's a big call for an unproven player. But there's a first time for everything so although it's incredibly unlikely, I'm not going to disagree with you ;) Personally I think his scores will begin to plummet soon, keeping up scores like this will be near impossible for him and I can't see him averaging +100 by season's end tbh, +95 will be an amazing season for him though. His first sub 100 game should be against Carlton, if it's against GWS (sub 80, consider him a pumpkin)

blues boy

With a breakeven of only 28 its pretty hard to ignore! Especially with the way melbourne seem to just chip it around, he is one of the very flew blokes that you see pushing hard to make an option. The younger kids look to kick it to him as well so that always helps.

He is probably first in line to get the tag but GWS hardly have a decent tagger that reduces scores significantly, Carlton although they have curnow, carrazzo, armfield and sometimes gibbs i can't really see a hard tag going to any melbourne player because they aren't damaging at all. So for at least the next 3 weeks i cant see his price going down significantly
