Possible April 3rd start for AFL in 2015

They were discussing this on AFL 360

Its because of the Cricket World Cup MCG, SCG, Gabba and AO won't be available until April

Means the GF might be in October could clash with Bathurst or Spring Carnivale

Was in the papers a while back. There was mention of two byes during the season, not sure if that means they will do away with the split round in the first week or not.

Why start really late - get rid of the split round start to save one week. Moving the final back one week although clashing with the NRL Grand final gains another week. Growing up I remember a time when both were on the same weekend.
There are ample suitable locations around the states as alternatives to using the cricket grounds. SA may have to go back to the old ground for a game or two. O forgot MCG is Collingwoods home ground so will not happen as we can not have Pies starting the season with 2 or 3 away games can we.
